I did not like the narrator's voice. It sounded computerised, but got used to it after a while into the book.
In terms of the book's content, I'd compare it to a pamphlet rather than a book, as I thought it lacked depth.
I agree with the core message, avoiding negativity. Anyone can benefit from avoiding negative self talks.
However, maybe it is suited to some age groups better than others.
"Valuable for developing Biblical thought patterns"
This is a powerful book for anyone suffering from depression, anxiety, anger, or other negative thought patterns that are influencing your life and relationships.
Lynn Davis approaches various negative thought patterns from the perspective of not only why they are wrong, but what Bible verses or Bible-centered concepts they can be replaced with. All of this is beautifully narrated by Susan Koch.
This is a short, but deep and concept-rich book that will lead you to not only examine your thought life and recognize thought patterns that are defeating you, but will also give you the tools with which to fight those thoughts.
I listened to this book in one sitting, but I will listen to it again on a regular basis to help me overcome unncessary thought clutter and replace it with God's Word.
This was an inexpensive book that will bring great blessings to those who take it seriously. I did, and I'm already reaping rewards.
"as much negative as positive "
the good content is great, but for whatever reason the author has decided to add the negative alternative.... so by the time you are done listening yoy Will hear the equal amount of the NEGATIVE option... I definitely don't recommend feeding yourself with ALL of what you SHOULDNT say... ...not for me.
"The Best one so far for me."
I listen to this and it is highly effective. A change is coming I know.
"The message is good"
The narrator is nearly unbearable to listen to; not only is she monotone but speaks SO slowly.
i'd check the narrator first
a better narrator
the message is good if you can get past the delivery
also, it's non returnable. thanks audible, i thought things were returnable if you didn't like it.
"will help w/self talk"
I hope to put scripture into the self talk in a way that was easy to incorporate into daily walk and talk
"simple but practical"
I actually like this book, its very simple, direct, and can change your self-talk. Put into practice, and your inner self can be transformed. This book is very biblically based and definitely aimed at Christians, and the Bible is used throughout! However, it is for all.
"This is wrong on so many levels"
If the author shouldn't present New Age thinking as Biblical, or she would stop constantly listing negative sentences. Those negative sentences gave me all the more reasons to hate my life.
No, terrible narrator.
More professional, vibrant, dynamic narrator would be better. Or not because the book is so terrible that no narrator can save it.
