Jack draws upon his Buddhist learnings to give a practical way of discovering your own spiritual understanding while living a modern life.
Many books about spiritual development are somehow detached from bringing the spiritual ideals that you discover into your everyday life. This book helps the reader use meditation as a tool for self discovery and development that extends to our entire lives and not restricted to the moments of insight that we all have from time to time.
A really interesting book and Jack's calm and clear narration really help with digesting the ideas he puts forward.
This is full of fascinating insights.
I've listened to a few of Jack Kornfield's books & have to say I found this a little boring. Maybe I've listened to too many? I don't know. Cannot fault Jack's soothing narration as always but for some reason this one just didn't grab me.
"Always puts me to sleep, but try to pay attention"
Very Good! Easy to listen to, practical advice for transforming your life into a more free and happy life. This audio version is missing some parts from the real book which is a bummer.
"Open heart opened mind!"
Beautiful book, teachings and teacher. Jack I someday hope I get to meet you. Namaste.
"Beautifully done and so inspiring."
beautifully done and I love the Simplicity of this program. it is so loving and inspiring. mindfulness has become part of my daily approach to living.
I loved it! Jack Cornfield is
exceptional ! Totally enjoyed it and look forward to listening again soon.
The author's voice was a little strange to me but other than that it was really good.
"Beautifully delivered message"
This teaching has a very nice, very gentle delivery. I enjoyed it very much and learned a lot.
"The book was way better!"
I would've given the book 5 stars. Somehow, it just didn't translate well into an audio book.
"Not the same that the paper copy"
Amazing book, i loved his teachings and the delivery was so easy to follow, now my only complain is that it is not the same that the paper copy. It would be really useful to have this distinction clear.
"Healing, guidance, and mindfulness"
I love Jack Kornfield and this is one of if not his best work. I have listened to this book 6 times in the last year or so. It never gets old and without it my road rage would be getting the best of me still. Instead I pop on Dr. Kornfield and listen on my commute and find myself having a nice commute regardless of the amount of traffic or overly aggressive/passive drivers I find. Thanks Dr. Kornfield!
