Summary
The Now is inseparable from who you are at the deepest level. It is the prerequisite of Being. As you listen to the words on this tape, you participate in the retreat. To "retreat" means to step back - not only from the outer world, but also from the world in your head, the thinking mind. Allow the sound of the words to take you beyond words and beyond sound to the stillness within. Allow the Now to be as it is and so realize the formless essence of the Now as consciousness itself.
Suggested practice: use the lesson throughout the day.
Blessings on your Journey into your Self.

Unabridged is not always a good thing.
It was good to hear some content I hadn't heard from Eckhart before however the raucous laughter in the background especially the braying of one particular member of the audience was a test of my presence after six hours.

Impossible to listen cause of that laughing idiot in the audience. I hope he was not paid for that, spoils overall impression
Very unfortunate choice of audience, unless it’s planned, which is even worse then.. Like his books though

Hmm, Not at all sure about this!
Having read the reviews I decided to purchase this title. My initial response was slight annoyance at his airy-fairy, insubstantial and somewhat meandering ideas. While there are some very valid and helpful ideas and a great sense of relaxed peace and quietude, this is sadly disturbed by his audience guffaws and cackles but worse (as another reviewer said) is his 'sniggering' and the 'heavy breathing' obviously caused by the microphone being too close to his mouth. Creepy! I have decided after several 'tries' that I cannot listen to him and sadly will not be able to take advantage of any of his teachings.

Just buy Power of Now
The Journey into yourself contains much the same message as The Power of Now, the crucial difference being that The Journey into Yourself is the recording of a meeting in Austin Texas, and as such is rather slow, sometimes with long silent pauses, and as such does make listening and absorbing the message of each session rather difficult.
If one has The Power of Now, which is entirely commendable, there is no need to bother with this.
The message is easy to digest, it just could have been done in half the time. However, the strength of the message in itself is sufficient to earn this 3 stars.

Annoying
I'm afraid that although Tolle has some interesting things to say, the way he delivers is annoying. He speaks too close to the microphone, one can hear him breathe which becomes claustrophobic, and he sniggers at his own jokes incessantly (accompanied by a member of the audience who whinnies in the background all the time), which really takes one's mind away from the seriousness of the subject he is treating. A disappointment.

Annoying Audience
I love all of Eckharts talks. In this one there is one audience member who is continuously laughing loudly even when Eckhart isn't trying to be funny! I'm glad I wasn't on this retreat as it would have spoilt the experience - unless of course it ended up sending me deeper spiritually because I was constantly aware of my mental complaining.

Dreadful and painful to listen to
A complete waste of a credit. Painful to listen to. It helps very slightly when you speed it up but it’s a nightmare constantly laughing at himself and painful to listen to

Extremely annoying person laughing
Love Elkharts teachings but the book was totally ruined for me by the constant hysterical laughing of a person over nearly every single sentence. Could of easily stopped listening as felt myself becoming more and more annoyed and stressed! Which was the complete opposite of what I was hoping to get out of listening. I like to think of myself as fairly well adjusted but I could of quite easily throttled the laughing idiot. Do not purchase this!

Such a shame
I am somewhat of an eckhart fan, for many years I have listened to his words. This is a VERY good structured listen BUT..... Certain members of the audience are incredibly annoying, to the point that I am unable to listen to the second half. It was giving me a good lesson in accepting sounds as they are. But this was too much!
