Summary
Despite the potential sensitivity of the topic, Richard Dawkins unashamedly applies his characteristically blunt approach to The God Delusion. His decision to narrate this audiobook himself only serves to make it all the more exhilarating an experience.

Richard Dawkins is considered to be one of the world's top intellectuals. As the author of many classic works on science and philosophy, he has always asserted the irrationality of belief in God and the grievous harm it has inflicted on society. He now focuses his fierce intellect exclusively on this subject, denouncing its faulty logic and the suffering it causes.
While Europe is becoming increasingly secularized, the rise of religious fundamentalism, whether in the Middle East or Middle America, is dramatically and dangerously dividing opinion around the world. In America and elsewhere, a vigorous dispute between "intelligent design" and Darwinism is seriously undermining and restricting the teaching of science. In many countries religious dogma from medieval times still serves to abuse basic human rights, such as those of women and gay people - and all from a belief in a God whose existence lacks evidence of any kind.
Dawkins attacks God in all his forms, from the sex-obsessed, cruel tyrant of the Old Testament to the more benign, but still illogical, Celestial Watchmaker favoured by some Enlightenment thinkers. He eviscerates the major arguments for religion and demonstrates the ultimate improbability of a supreme being. He shows how religion fuels war, foments bigotry and abuses children. In The God Delusion, Dawkins presents a hard-hitting, impassioned rebuttal of religion of all types and does so in the lucid, witty and powerful language for which he is renowned.

Masterpiece
This book is a beautifully narrated, well researched, scientific and philosophical analysis of theism. It comprehensively covers virtually all the academic questions one is likely to ask of religion. In general the cited examples show a bias towards the analysis of Christianity within the United Kingdom and United States of America.
It does however have some idiosyncrasies, the structure and vocabulary has academic tone. The book is not difficult to comprehend, but the meticulous use of referencing does lend itself to frequent repeated listening (perhaps a chapter at a time) if one is to fully appreciate the detail within the work.

The points made in the book are weak. That being said, it's not a bad book. Maybe I found it after it's time.

The female voice was at first a confusion. What had gone wrong with the download. Then it was flat and uninteresting. very disappointing rendition of a thoroughly enjoyable bpok

Fails to convince God doesn’t exist
This book is well-written, contains valid arguments, and exposes the lack of logic in standard religious belief systems. However, it inaccurately portrays that religion comes from God and that religion teaches to kill. But the religion teaches not to kill and, at the same time, contains error. Most religions don’t have much to do with God. All religions have been created by humankind and are based on human interpretation. There is a message of love that gets distorted and lost in error, and this, mixed with human trauma, creates fundamentalists.
Also, this book doesn’t explain how the universe's laws have been created if there is no God. Evolution may exist, but it’s unclear how to explain the abundance of physical laws in the universe. How have they come into existence?

Meh
Some great ideas, but a lot of talking about topics that had nothing to do with the theme of the book

Great Content, Audio Needs Re-mixed
Richard Dawkins is such a great man and puts his opinion with reason out in such a fantastic way.
My only issue is the audio isn’t very clear and unbalanced at times. Woman’s voice is left and Richards is right which is good idea but seems very quiet and strange at times.

A little patronising.
I write as a god-believing man, looking to learn and challenge my own beliefs and knowledge. This book extremely interesting and thoughr provoking, as with all Dawkins work, and I absolutely learnt a thing or too. However, I found many moments of the narration to be patronising and cringe-inducing, Dawkins shouldn't need to resort to condescending voices and arguments to get his point across. Perhaps some don't mind this, but I found it very off-putting.
I'm not a super traditional Catholic, just a well educated person who happens to have faith, in what i call a common sense modern approach to religion. I appreciate the research that went into this book, and the undeniable logic offered by Dawkins.
This brings me to what I call the missing link that Dawkins can't wrap his head around. He simlply doesn't have faith, and therefore can't compute how someone can have it. You can practically taste Dawkins disapproval and confusion at those who believe, coming at you through the words he writes. I know he would roll he's eyes at this, but you cut help when you believe. Nonetheless I would recommend this book to everyone, believers, atheists and all those in between.

Couldn't get over delivery
Obviously an intelligent guy but the whole book would've been a lot better if the tone of the last chapter was used throughout the whole book. I'm not a religious fanatic by any stretch but he comes across as a belligerent, spoilt child at times, & his criticisms are playground-ish. He really lets himself down & I struggled to finish it
