Summary
Throughout his time as a murder squad detective, Trevor Marriott has seen firsthand the wanton slayings and butcheries that have been committed by both men and women who have warped, depraved and sadistic minds.
In this fascinating and chilling book, he examines the world's most notorious serial killers and the despicable crimes they committed. From William McDonald (the 'Sydney Mutilator') to 'Dusseldorf Vampire' Peter Kurten, Steve Wright (the 'Suffolk Strangler') and the USA's satanic Ripper Crew, these are the horrifying true stories of serial murder from across the globe.

Brilliant, dark, fascinating, well-narrated
A deep dark journey through the worlds serial killers, a brutal narration of MO, motivation and abominable crimes. Very well written, researched and narrated. If you're keen on good summaries of famous serial killers, this is excellent. very haunting.

Great Audiobook
This Audiobook is worth the money. It went into cases with more details than most books. Highly Recommend !

Excellent read! Very disturbing
This is my first review on here! Thought I would start with this book. Wow, hooked from the beginning. Most people have heard of majority of serial killers out there but this book delves deeper and goes into detail. Some truly sick people out there! Definitely a good read. but not for the faint hearted.

Not what I expected
I had expected a book about the psychology and back story of murderers, but was presented with a detailed account of how each person died. Dated language and over indulges in these dated terms. I have never heard the word "bu**ery" so much in my life. Narrator was ok.

Poorly written and narrated
This was a poorly written book, even allowing for the fact it was written by an ex-police man, the narration was stunted and had stupid unnecessary additional comments. The narration was awful! Yaz Shah has a pleasant voice, but constantly mis-pronounced words. The book style wasn’t easy to read, this is a prime example of how an editor should earn their living by making the book better to read, and have the story edited for audio, so narration can be more natural and flowing.

A comprehensive insight into world serial killers
If you could sum up The Evil Within in three words, what would they be?
Staggering, gory, informative
What did you like best about this story?
Narrator was good. I liked the British chapters best - the book is split up into killers from different countries.
Which character – as performed by Yaz Shah – was your favourite?
Doesn't really apply to this book. Narrator was good.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
What you need to know about the worlds most notorious serial killers.
Any additional comments?
I felt the book was too long. Especially the US entries although presumably most killers were American. The content is very graphic but due to the vast number of killers catalogued you weirdly find yourself getting a bit bored with the huge number of awful murders. impresses on you just how many serial killers there are out there!

Narration
Enjoyed the book but distracted by the narrator mispronouncing several words; Cricklewood, Catholicism and depravity to name a few

Informative
The cases were informative but lacked a lot of detail.
The narration was OK but for me it was marred as all I could focus on was the loud intake of breath every time she breathed in. I found it to distracting to go further than the 4th chapter.

Great book, narrator hiccups
The book/story is excellent, and I wouldn't normally comment especially about the narrators delivery, but this has been mildly frustrating. Many words are mispronounced, making me correct her as I work... I have headphones in and i shout random words in frustration. I'd be put off another story narrated by her.
