"A great insight to a dog 's life"
A must read for every dog owner . you will never look at your dog the same way again
I am always looking to learn more about dogs and this book expanded my world of thinking about them.
"inside of a DOG"
A wonderful depiction of a dog's thoughts and behaviors ... A lasting tribute to Pump! I feel blessed to have finally listened to this FANTASTIC knowledge from a dog's perspective ... this is the stuff your VET fails to tell you! thank you
"Thought provoking, beautiful language"
Love the scientific angle author uses to support the points she makes but also the evocative and loving description of her own dog. Really enjoyed this audiobook. Definitely changes the way one will look at a dog going forward!
"Boring and not particularly informative"
No. The narration is terrible. It is boring largely because of its monotonous drone. The "story" is neither a factual or scientific recitation nor a story in any real sense. It is almost stream of consciousness, dull consciousness at that.
I hope something better.
See my comments above.
I had to stop listening. Also, although purporting to be a scientist, the author's recitation of fact about dogs goes against my 45 years of observation and interaction with dogs. She would need to be much more specific and present her evidence in far more detail to convince me that her observations should be given more credence than my own. Instead, almost everything she presents is cursory and conclusory.
I loved the book. although a little overwhelming with the science sometimes, there was tons of great info and I look at my dog differently Anna written more understanding now.
I don't have time to take care of a dog but this book is excellent and will make the reader want all to own one and truly enjoy them. I truly hope all of us will see our beloved pets again and Pumpernickel will have a chance again to come back and love and live in a better world one day.
