    "Super Simple"
Would you listen to HTML and JavaScript QuickStart Guides again? Why?

Yes - I will use it for reference in the future when I need to look something up.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    N/A

Have you listened to any of Tony Fatania’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    N/A

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, this is something very technical and should be digested over time.

    Any additional comments?

This ebook was very easy to understand and follow along with, though listening to the reading of the html tags over and over was quite monotonous. I really like that there is an included pdf to follow along with. This makes it much simpler to understand the tags rather than just hearing them. It is a little slow, but the book is very thorough. Perfect for beginners who have zero HTML experience.

"Good content but reading code aloud doesn't work"

Full Disclosure: I received this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review

I have a little programming experience coming into this book and after hearing it read (and skimming through the attached pdf, which you have to request for some strange reason, I hope they fix that). I feel very confident that I could make a page with HTML and javascript elements. I actually did make an HTML one when listening too it and it seems to work as listed. The material is concise, extremely well explained, and immediately useful. It could have used a section on how to host a webpage, but that might be beyond the scope of the book. The Javascript section was a good introduction to programming in general. It's nothing you can't find on codecademy or any other tutorial, but it's well presented here.

The reader has a nice voice, is very clear even at high speeds and adds a little soul to the text.

All that being said, the thing is nearly unlistenable as they read out all the code examples. I understand it's done to enforce learning, but it's painful to hear right bracked p forward slash left bracket a hundred times. It would have been nice if they just defined it at first 'the paragraph element is...' and then used something like 'paragraph start' instead of reading out every character. It wasn't terrible with HTML as HTML is simple, but for the javascript I just started zoning out in code block sections. This is where the attached pdf (which as I mentioned you have to request from them) is super helpful. It's much easier to just skim through the code quickly after you have heard the book read.

Overall, I'd say it's a decent listen if you desperately need to bone up on HTML/Javascript, I learned a lot, but I'd also advise you to skip all the code bits if you can and make sure you get the pdf.

"Great book if you want to learn coding!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. It goes into detail about learning HTML and Java which is great for anyone who wants to learn. You do not have to read the book as it is read to you so you can be on the computer and following exactly what they say which is really handy.

Who was your favorite character and why?

There are not really any characters in the book as it is about learning HTML and Java.

What about Tony Fatania’s performance did you like?

He was clear speaking and really easy to follow. I found it really calming.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really. I found all parts of the book to be helpful and easy to follow and learn.

    Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn coding and does not have time to read a book about it. Audible is great!

**I reviewed this book for free for my honest opinion. All opinions are my own.

"Nice intro to both Java and HTML"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. This is one of the better beginner audio books. This book really starts with the basics. Each book in the combo gives you details that other books do not. These books provide the meaning of the acronyms. I would recommend this book set.

What other book might you compare HTML and JavaScript QuickStart Guides to and why?

I cannot really compare it to another good book as this is the first audio book I have received that was this detailed about scripting.

Have you listened to any of Tony Fatania’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Writing with Java/HTML

"Good content best utilized with book in hand"
If you could sum up HTML and JavaScript QuickStart Guides in three words, what would they be?

    Concise, Informative, and Detailed

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I tried listening in my car on my way to work but found it best utilized when the accompanied PDF is close at hand or if I had the physical hard copy by my side.

    Any additional comments?

This training audiobook that is best if listened at home where a listener can easily refer to the PDF or the actual book as a reference. Great content!

The reader speaks in a calm and monotone voice. The sample codes are kind of hard to follow if you just listen to the audio book. Best if used with an actual book.

"Clear voice, with PDF file included."
Where does HTML and JavaScript QuickStart Guides rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The book explained really well the basics about HTML and JavaScript in the Introduction. It's like getting a refresher course for a Computer Science graduate like me. Well, that's just one reason I can easily grasp the knowledge easily. Those who are just starting to learn how to code would need a hard copy of this. It's really hard to understand the audio if there's no book you can look at because we are talking about codes here. I don't want to be writing down every example he says and my brain can't hold too much short term memory. LOL. If this book came with PDF's then I would have rated it 5-stars.

What other book might you compare HTML and JavaScript QuickStart Guides to and why?

None. This is the first few HTML books I've listened too.

What about Tony Fatania’s performance did you like?

Clear voice and accent is great.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    None.
