"A great way to learn a new language"

I've listened to this only a few times and am amazed at how many phrases I can remember. The narrators sound like they are having fun (quite unlike other audio language courses I have tried) and the music really helps memory retention. In an attempt multi-task by breaking the monotony of my horrendous daily commute AND being able to have proper conversations with my friends in Greece, it's absolutely perfect. I hope Rapid Greek: Volume 2 will be appearing soon!

    "Simply the best"

This has to be the best learning, device ever.relax and learn far better than trying to learn yourself from books. Over the years i have spent a lot of money trying to speak greek. this was a bargain. I have learnt more words and sayings than i have in the past ten years. Simply the best.

    "Rapid Greek"

    I have studied
foreign languages for a lifetime and this has to be the most effective and enjoyable method so far.

The bonus is that the teachers seem to be enjoying themselves and who wouldn't want to be taught by such enthusiastic people not to mention the very becoming voice of the young lady teacher.

"Excellent for auditory learners with a musical ear"

I have a real issue learning from a book or being told constantly with repetition. Earworms has enabled me to learn Greek very quickly with music, I don't know how it works, but it does! After a couple of weeks, I had to buy volume 2 because I was fluent in the greek taught on volume 1! I would definately recomend this to people who learn more by sounds than reading.

I like to learn interesting stuff on midnight runs. And I need absorbing children's audio to stay sane on long car journeys.

"An easy listen, but limited content"

Very easy to listen to whilst driving, (and running, reading and watching TV). Not very demanding and not much content.

    "Good coverage but poor production"

There is a good range of phrases for many situations that you may encounter on holidays. What put me off was the continuous background music which very quickly becomes extremely irritating. After my first listening, I used the Collins Greek instead and concentrated on mastering everything on Collins. Returning to this a couple of years later I still find it annoying and the enunciation of some of the words is not as clear as it could be. I totally mis-heard one of the English words they were using. It was not until I had played it through several times that I suddenly realised that a different word was being said.
This may be ideal for people who learn better with music in the background but even then, why not provide your own choice of music? Personally, I like clear pronunciation so that I can imitate all the inflections as close as possible to the correct one.

    "Rapid Greek Vol 1"

I purchased this along with the Michel Thomas book and the One Day Greek book. Repetition is the key - but I think I might go mad if I continue to repeat the Earworms learning tape.... the music is beginning to mask the vocabulary.

I think too that it's value lies more in building vocabulary than teaching the structure of the language, something the Michel Thomas tape achieves very well.

I am glad to have the Earworms book - variety is good in any repetitive method - but I won't be buying book 2 just yet - although I have ordered the foundation and advanced courses by the Michel Thomas method.

The One Day Greek book is also an easier listen than this.

    "Excellent"

This is one of the best ways to learn a language. I have several other Greek teaching tools, but this is by far the best. The phrasing is short enough to allow you to repeat the phrases. There is plenty of repetition without boredom. The phrases are useful ones, in the order you might use them. The book contains the Greek characters, as well as the phonetic spelling, so you can learn to identify some words as they appear in Greek.

The use of music to anchor the language learning is superb.

    "Clear and helpful"

Rapid Greek, Volume 1 supplies the listener with a limited vocabulary but with enough stock phrases that you can go from here to there, shop and order at a restaurant. The repetitive format is conducive to learning and the native speaker's diction is clear and unhurried. The integrated background music can be annoying at times but does not detract from hearing the greek phrases. You will now need to supplant your learned sentences with additional vocabulary from another source to get much further than an introduction.

    "It's Good"

I liked this method, although I had to refer to the booklet a lot to decipher exactly what was being said. I found that these phrases really stuck. When I got to Greece I recognized words I heard and could actually remember how to say things. That was with just a couple weeks of listening.

This method worked better than other attempts I've made at picking up other languages for travel.

    "Incorrect pronounciation, irritating music"

There are mistakes all over the booklet! This lesson provides a booklet using the incorrect pronounciation. Example - some words used "d" instead of "t". 3 is pronouced as "tria" and the booklet says to pronounce it as "dria". My husband is greek and started laughing when he saw this. DO NOT BUY THIS!
