"Easy to understand"
The speakers spoke clearly and slow enough to understand and repeat,The words where everyday words , not just words for traveling and reservations ,
"The native speaker is too fast"
The native speaker is too fast and you can't understand what he is saying. The words run together.
"Not well thought out"
I expected this to be straightforward and helpful vocab practice for new language learners. How hard could it be, right?
They did two big things wrong, however. Fix these two flaws, and it could have been far more useful:
1. It tries to use a 1-to-1 mapping to english words when no such mapping is possible. For example, it claims to present the Spanish words for "is," "was," "are," "am," "was going," "will go," and the like. Never mind that these verbs are conjugated in a complex way in Spanish, and never mind that there are two distinct words for "to be" in Spanish (ser and estar).
Similarly, at one point it teaches you that "hombre" means man (correct), and at another point it tries to claim that the word for man is "senor." It arguably makes sense in the example sentence that follows—but this could easily confuse students.
This makes it very difficult to use as a tape for practicing vocabulary—you don't know what word the narrator actually has in mind or why until you hear the whole example sentence.
2. The example sentences are too fast and complex for beginners.
The tape only teaches you one word clearly, and the Spanish reader does not enunciate the syllables of the example sentence well enough for you to learn how to say the whole sentence. Sometimes the conjugation changes, also, between the presentation of the word and the sentence.
This means that someone who is at a level where they need to learn the "101" most basic words in Spanish will not be able to recite (much less understand) the example sentences. If you are able to learn these lessons well, then they were too elementary for you to begin with. But if you need to learn these words, you will not be able to learn everything in these lessons. It's a catch twenty-two.
Loved the easy pronunciation and dialect training. You people are about to get paid. Yes.
Bon mais pas super. Ca prend plusieurs livre pour faire le tour je n'ai pas été impressionné.
interpreter was hard to understand sometimes but once I saw that I could slow it down that made it easier. I am using it well so far.
"Just A List of Words Spoken With No Explanations"
Like my headline says, it's just a a bunch of Words Spoken with no definition or explanation. Waste of time to even download.
"Least helpful ever"
It says the words in Spanish, but not what they are in English or any other language. I now know "serpenta"I'm going to guess it means snake but who knows seeing as it said animals and then started listing the whole zoo.
"Speaking words in minutes & making connections!"
Excellent place to start and really develop a love for new language you CAN do it, this is a great beginners guide to so many common words AND common sentences you begin to make connections in the grammar and language almost immediately I wish the book have the ability to touch the word and hear it spoken in here the definition in Spanish and English otherwise loved it!
"Not helpful at all"
Translating the words in English
if it was better
Luckily I know some Spanish so most of the vocab I knew but it wasn't helpful because it wasn't giving me a translation of the vocab in English
