"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." (AudioFile magazine)

The program is quite slow to kickstart a lesson in korean. cutting the words in syllables and doing it backwards, i'm not sure what's the essence of doing that.
Although this title is teaching me Korean (as far as I can tell! ;-) ), I am very irritated (& disappointed), since I bought it from Audible ***UK*** that it is teaching me to say that come from America! (It doesn't even specify which continent of America... or which country in which continent - I am left to assume it must (inevitably!) mean the US of America...)
Obviously, this isn't a serious drawback, finding out the Korean for the UK shouldn't be too hard, but it is very annoying.
"Best and quickest way to learn Korean."
The first 5 units increase my Korean vocabulary by 3 times within 2 weeks. For me - each lesson took about 3 days
"Avoid this one"
My girlfriend who is a native speaker told me that the pronunciation of several words is way off, and some others are just incorrect. There is no written transcript for Pimsleur Korean Phase 1 as there is for every other Pimsleur product, so the only way to know you've learned to speak partially nonsense Korean is the confounded looks on the faces of those you try to talk to. Probably best to spend your credit elsewhere.
"Good for speaking practice, but..."
This is a great companion to the Korean workbook I got for Christmas (not Pimsleur related). The book helps me with grammar and vocabulary and this helps me with speaking practice and phrase learning. I also have a native speaker handy to help with dissecting sentences and figuring out which words to use in certain circumstances. I do NOT recommend using this audiobook unless you have some other form of supplemental learning to use. The grammar is poorly explained and they use a lot of overly formal verb forms that sound weird to native speakers.
That said, this is very much helping me to accelerate my learning Korean, and if you do happen to have other means of practicing (grammar books or native speakers, preferably both) I definitely recommend it. Just don't use it exclusively.
Bought this for a last minute trip, didn't think it was optimally structured for a beginner. I've used other Collins and language learning programs and found them to be easier to follow.
I appreciate how the lessons build on each other. I am amazed at wods and phrases that have been committed to memory with little effort.
"Fast and easy way to learn Korean."
I've taken Korean classes and used other programs but nothing has worked faster or better than the Pimsleur method.
