At last, a convenient and immensely useful learning companion for students of Old Testament Hebrew. Designed for use with Basics of Bibical Hebrew Grammar, this audio program helps you master all the vocabulary words in the textbook lesson by lesson. Hearing the Hebrew words properly pronounced simplifies your learning process. Basics of Bibical Hebrew Vocabulary includes these features:
©2006 Gary D. Pratico, Miles V. Van Pelt, and Jonathan T. Pennington; (P)2006 The Zondervan Corporation
this made me laugh....if you are going to sell a program
that sells the Hebrew language, at least get someone that speaks and understands the Hebrew language....
the narrator's pronounciation is without a doubt pathetic, i was laughing,
he does'nt not know how to pronounce the Hebrew language...
per example.... the word B'rit (covenant) the reader pronounces it as "Breth"....
Zondervan ..please do better.... so far i have purchased 6 Hebrew items from your site and at least 4 do not reach the mark........i hope you will do better
.if you would like me to do your Hebrew readings for you please contact me i will be willing....
i cannot recommend your Hebrew programs to my students...oouch!!!!!!!
"Could be better"
Reading is pretty good, but sometimes the words aren't inflected very well, or the reader says things awkwardly. You can definitely tell where editing has been done.
My biggest frustration is that it's all one track, or "chapter" as it is called. That's really not what I expect from a $14 audiobook. Someone was really lazy.
Finally, sometimes the definitions are slightly different than those listed in the book. Not so much so that it matters a lot, but it's annoying when you are studying the book vocab and think you messed up a word because the audio was different.
Overall I am glad this resource is available. But in its current state it is not worth $14. Someone should address the issues, especially the single track. I hate having to guess where the next chapter is.
"Good Study Help"
I was disappointed that the chapters were not marked like the CD evidently is. it is also frustrating that Zondervan must be trying to sell extra books, namely the Vocabulary book. While the Vocabulary is the same as in the Grammar it is in a different order in several chapters, this made for difficulty trying to recognize the words before the definition was given and sometimes even the next vocabulary word being spoken. it would be nice if the definitions matched the Grammar as well. ~~ Over all it was helpful to hear the Vocabulary spoken.
