His code name is Mr Clark. And his work for the CIA is brilliant, cold-blooded, and efficient...but who is he really? In a harrowing tour de force, Tom Clancy shows how an ordinary man named John Kelly crossed the lines of justice and morality - to become the CIA legend, Mr Clark.
This is an unforgettable journey into the heart of darkness. Without mercy. Without guilt. Without remorse.

For sheer narrative punch and emotional impact, Without Remorse is Clancy's best.' - Dallas Morning News
First audible purchase ever returned ,the reason being poor sound quality and dull narration. I do realise that like or dislike of a narrators style can be highly subjective though so I would urge all would be purchasers to listen to a sample before deciding to buy but as for for me the dull monotone style in which this title was read coupled with muffled sound quality made, what should have been a fast paced thriller, into an incredibly dull experience .
Took a while to get going, but the action and suspense is excellent.
In the beginning I found the reader a bit monotonous and lacking the acting ability of say Robert Glenister or Colin Mace.
However he seems to relax into the story too, or my own empathy with the characters provides a subconscious infill to round off the tale.
But a brilliant story nonetheless with a fitting finale. I'm intending to read all the Jack Ryan novels in order so watch this space.
Great story. It kept me engaged to the end once I got used to the narration.
I have always enjoyed a good political thriller or detective novel, now in my fifties, I find that I have even less time to spend reading.
I thought that it was a damn good yarn. Had to keep listening in short bursts...
I enjoy faithful theology books. I have also enjoyed Wheel of Time series, Pratchett, Brooks, Raymond Feist, Rothruss and Sanderson
Unsure I have not read the printed edition. I enjoyed listening to this but if books had a rating, this is definitely an 18.
The story was tight and well woven, narration was a bit dead pan.
It was really enjoyable hearing the start of such an iconic character.
I think I enjoyed the main character the most. Kelly / Clark.
Well it was a gritty novel. There were times i wish i could jump ahead a few pages but being audio this was hard to do. Some of the crime descriptions like rape, and so on were particularly too full on the details.
I will certainly try out book number 2.
I would hope the author calms down a bit on the graphical descriptions in future books.
muffled audio doesn't spoil a great story. not a bad reading, just sounds like the microphone had too much damping on it
"My First Tom Clancy Book"
Without Remorse was the first Tom Clancy book I've ready. It was very refreshing to read a new style and type of story line.
The audio quality was easily the worst I've heard though. Very unclear and little or no expression from the narrator.
The voice was unclear and rather expressionless when compared to all the other Audible books I've listened to.
"John Clark before CIA"
The creation of CIA agent John Kelly AKA John Clark and the drug dealers and sex slavers getting what they deserve.
Yes I have but I will not rate his performance as one of the best as he is just to monotonous.
Yes as you just want to know how John Kelly will make the Dealers and slavers pay.
