I listened to the audiobook which Hendry narrated. She did a fabulous job. I'll probably listen to this again.
The book follows her journey to overcome her tendency to binge eat. As someone who's been dieting for nearly half a century, I was sympathetic to many of the things she's dealt with. She shared what she's learned through experience and study (citing reliable sources).
I like her philosophy and the relative ease of the plan she uses. Like her, I'm really busy. I don't have a lot of time for complicated processes. If it's too difficult, it ain't happening. I'm looking forward to giving this a try.
Wendy Henry has a very pleasant voice unlike most the audible books that sound computer generated.

This subject of the 2 part brain should be taught at school and at home as it affects all of us at our very natures with the thousands of decisions we make everyday! Thanks Wendy!
"relevant and attainable"
Everything in this book relates to my life. The details may be different, but the experiences are the same. Wendy has lived it, therefore she understands the daily struggles with self-worth, motivation, frustration, weight loss, and overall self improvement. She offers incredible insight and examples that are real and relatable. She offers strategies that target specific brain based reactions to overcome our physical, mental, and emotional habits. She does not claim to have a "cure all," but she shares her knowledge, experiences, and strategies that helped her gain her self esteem and health. As a teacher and coach I have studied how the brain learns, but for some reason I have never applied that knowledge to self improvement and health habits. It makes perfect sense that retraining your brain concerning health habits would require the same mental processes as learning a new skill or gaining knowledge. Incredible concept. Thanks Wendy for sharing your failures and successes.

I was able to actually hear Wendy speak. I was so excited to find the help I've been looking for for years. She addresses how to use mind over emotion and puts in into a Scenario I understand. I will be on her website and follow her suggestions starting today! Thank you Wendy.
"Just What I Was Looking For"
Very good book! Straight to the point. Not too long, not too short. She makes the process seem very doable and everything is soo well explained in an easy going manner. Finally someone who has the guts to mention that she couldn't find any evidence to prove why we should drink gallons of water everyday! I'm alway bugged by this...I agree, we should make a water effort every day, but the amount we're told to drink baffles me. Also, I love exercise but I agree that it hasn't worked for me either killing myself in the gym.
I just wanted to be more relaxed around food and out of the three books I've read on this subject, this has maybe the more relaxed approach.
I can't see me doing her clicker trick, but I've taken everything else on board that she's advised.
In this category I've already read Never Binge Again and Brain over Binge. I would rate Brain over Binge my favorite and this a very close second.
Super easy to listen to the author as a narrator. She should be paid to read books because many other titles I've downloaded are terrible to listen to because of the narrators!
"A must read for any Binger!"
I listened to this book in one sitting; once I started, I didn't want to put it down. I am a Binger and felt that Wendy actually understood my problem intimately. Her advice was spot on and tremendously helpful. I would strongly suggest this book to any food addict who suffers from compulsive overeating. This is not a diet book or a quick fix book, but rather a specific book to give solace to those hoping to find much needed peace and healing.
The book is packed full; at great credit to the author. I was glad to have a computer close to type some much needed notes as I went through the content. I found that the advice and hints were things that I hadn't thought of before. I became motivated to implement some of the very practical suggestions immediately. In my opinion, this book is worth its weight in gold. I will be reading the book in its entirety again tomorrow and can't wait to find what I may have missed during the first sitting.
