God gave us emotions to experience life, not destroy it! Lysa TerKeurst admits that she, like most women, has had experiences where others bump into her happy and she comes emotionally unglued. We stuff, we explode, or we react somewhere in between. What do we do with these raw emotions? Is it really possible to make emotions work for us instead of against us? Yes, and in her usual inspiring and practical way, Lysa will show you how. Filled with gut-honest personal examples and biblical teaching, Unglued will equip you to:

"Great book! Enjoying it very much."
I am enjoying this book so much that I bought it in audio and both in paperback and on my kindle too. It is one I will read over and over. It is as if it was written just for me.
I am very pleased that Lisa read her own book for the audio, as I enjoy hearing the authors narrating their own books instead of someone else.
Lisa is so real and honest in this book, as she is in Made to Crave (another one of her books that is fabulous.
Keep up the good work, Lisa. I really enjoy your books.
"Unglued is Unreal"
This book could apply to anyone who is looking at their life and want to improve their reactions and behaviors to everyday living.
"Holds Together Well"
I have recommended this audiobook to several of my friends already. I am on my second listen and appreciate the sound biblical reminders the book offers when emotions rise and my own thoughts begin to prevail. It has served as a wonderful redirecting of my thoughts back to God's perspective.
I liked Lysa's vulnerability which she reveals throughout the book. I do not believe I would have stuck with the subject matter had I not believed she actually lived life like the rest of the world.
Of course it is much more enjoyable to listen to the author herself reading how she felt in those particular moments she is sharing. I think the impact can be greater on the listener.
It brought up some memories and examples within my own mind of my life and how much I have to be ready to practice "soul integrity" as she calls it - Godly honesty all of the time in every relationship. I was particularly drawn to her explanation and examples of putting up barriers vs. setting boundaries. I did smile and relate numbers of times with her examples.
I think this is a REAL girl's book. I would recommend it to any girl/woman who wants to be honest with herself and others and follow a God of honesty and truth.
This was a great read just before the holidays! Read by the author: who does a fabulous job, this book talks about keeping control in tough situations. A great book for anyone struggling to keep control of their emotions.
I see that this book was written by a woman, but other than that, I didn't really see any indication that it was aimed at women. Maybe I just didn't look hard enough, or maybe it wasn't made clear enough in the description, either way I'm not pleased that I spent money on this thing. The time I spent listening to it, I didn't really care for the author's voice who decided to read her book either. Wouldn't recommend this book, especially for men.
"Unglued: Making Wise Choices"
This book is probably perfect for someone with the same problems and reactions and probably young. I am just too old for this book. I wanted to tell this person to grow up for God's sake and stop acting like an out of control pre-teen. When she files off into a rage over a little thing, it is a reaction we recognize as the straw that broke the camel's back. I just couldn't get very far in this book to find out if it ever got better or if she was just going to flop on the ground like a carp over every little thing. Self absorbed without coping skills and how she reacts sums up the book. Yes, I couldn't stand it and tried not to let the horrible person portrayed want to grade this with no stars.
"A must read!"
Love her she's such a great writer and speaker in this book could not have been any more on target then it was I loved what she says about in perfect progress this because I must read.
"I AM NOT WHAT I THOUGT, I AM NORMAL!"
Having a challenging time balancing marriage, motherhood, ministry, and s desire to work outside the home. Found myself yelping at spouse, kids, birds, etc. But I love God, why am I acting unloving? This book truly gave me a sense of calmness in knowing that I'm not alone.
Yes, the book is so practical and inspiring that I am in the process of listening to it again.
The author has great analogies to illustrate her points. I appreciate that she speaks from experience.
Perspective is everything. Imperfect progress.
"Imperfect progress and Space for Grace"
Two mantras I will take with me forever. So nice the book is read by the author has there are some
Brave testimonials made more believable as she's reading them. Such a cheerful, funny and caring voice to walk is through such a debilitating, ugly, raw, embarrassing and shameful mine field of emotions. I love this book and will refer to it again and again if even just the epilogue. Thank you for this gift, I applied it immediately the very next day and saw wonderful results for myself and others. Imperfect progress using space for grace.
