Never in the history of time has it been so simple to pass off opinion as fact and get 100 or 1,000 or 1,000,000 other people onboard with it. Despite having all of the information in the world available at the drop of a hat - and constantly competing for our attention - it's hard to differentiate between a well-meaning news article and a hard-hitting exposé of Britney Spears' sudden weight gain.
With our senses being constantly assaulted with propaganda by everything from our electronic devices to our daily commutes to work, many of us are easily manipulated into beliefs and purchases we never wanted and can't explain how we got suckered into. Many more of us are left with an unhealthy cynicism of all institutions, from having our affections and loyalties constantly manipulated and tossed by the changing winds of public opinion and what is considered to be politically and socially correct thinking and behavior.
The digital age has certainly opened up new avenues for mind control, brainwashing, manipulation, propaganda, and negative influence. This book, entitled Unbrainwashing Yourself by author Jim Foster, will cover, in detail, the different brainwashing tactics from our interpersonal relationships, religion, and cult followings to the military scare tactics, medical monopolies, the media, and corporate entities. More importantly, you will be given solutions for how to overcome this good-versus-evil battle for control of your mind, as you will learn, step by step, how to deprogram and free yourself from the clutches of brainwashing, mind control, manipulation, negative influence, controlling people, cults, and propaganda.

Some useful information, but not what it promises to be. The book does not offer any suggestions or help as to what to do once you find yourself under the influence of manipulative people or institutions.
A good read for awareness in this complicated age we live in. A nice breakdown of all the ways we can be manipulated through media, consumerism and culturally. I enjoyed it.
"Might not change your life, but worth the read"
I learned some interesting and thought provoking "behind the scenes info". good read. Narrator could've done a better job of separating sections, but I got used to it very quickly.
"not as good as advertoses"
I was hopping there would be more on how to unbrainwash yourself from a predator like a pimp bit they didn't even seem to mention that kind of brainwashing and how to undo anyway dissappointed
"dissapointing and inaccurate"
I was disgusted and disappointed that a book about brainwashing, deprograming and propaganda contained and promoted inaccurate and misleading information about Islam and the meaning of the word Jihad.
