"...a practical and realistic step-by-step action plan for successfully finding that critical job. This is definitely a groundbreaking approach in the field." (G. Frank Lawlis, Ph.D. A.B.P.P., author of The ADD Answer and other books)
I had the audio a week - I listened..then i followed through with some of the suggestions... Ultimately it is common sence and focus and his advice and guidance proved to be somewhat of an eye opener... My focus should be to drum up the interviews - after that the decision is out of my hands. The more interviews the more likely the opportunity for me to get the job I want...
"Long Drawn out, and Out of Date Advice"
Despite the low rating I gave this book, I would recommend it to a job seeker because it gives alternative views and ideas from main stream job seeking advice. Some of it is good, most of it isn't. However, if you are able to find on good piece of information from it and apply it successfully, it could make a world of difference.
The majority of Tony Beshara's experience is pre-internet. He keeps mentioning that you should call the "hiring agent". The fact is that most hiring starts at Human Resources and bypassing it is next to impossible anymore. I tried to attempt Tony's telemarketing style interview seeking and was told nearly every time to apply online.
I've had 5 job offers since I bought this book. All of them were from job boards such as Careerbuilder, which he does not recommend using. I have had no luck using Tony Beshara's methods.
"Waste of money!"
Other than a few tiny segments, I got pretty much nothing of any real value from this book which is amazing considering how damn long it is!!! I can't believe i actually sat thru all of this. I can't see this really helping anyone on a job hunt, it is more likely to get you very frustrated with the whole process. No real answers to anything.
"Must read for people looking for a job"
There are some great job search techniques in the book. It also helps you in dealing with rejection.
Narrator talks a little slow, but the content is excellent.
