The mistake a lot of people make is that they focus on what the don't want because they don't want it and then end up creating more of that thing because they're focusing on it. So if you're lying in bed trying not to think about all the things you've got to do, what you're actually doing is thinking about those things. If you're worrying about not being able to get to sleep the worry itself can keep you awake. The answer is to make a choice to think about things that will help you rest and relax and if you catch yourself thinking inappropriate thoughts, as many of us do from time to time, simply choose to return to thinking about things which calm and relax your mind once again.
You can use this recording as a tool to help you do that much more quickly and easily than you otherwise would have done.
In addition to this recording being written and delivered by Darren Marks one of the UKs leading hypnotherapists and NLP practitioners, it also utilizes dual delivery hypnotherapy (DDH) and brainwave entrainment. DDH involves different suggestions or metaphors being delivered separately yet simultaneously through the right and left headphones. The effect is deeply hypnotic and has the advantage of helping the unconscious mind to accept beneficial suggestions with less conscious interference.

Two AM. I couldn't sleep. I downloaded this book (from Itunes) on to my iphone. Listened to it. It was working very well until the last 10 seconds, or so, when a LOUD VOICE announced, 'THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO AUDIBLE', jolting me awake again.
I don't have the words to describe how annoying this was. Someone in audible wasn't thinking.
This is a very good hypnotherapy recording that helps me begin to drift off in to a peaceful sleep. However, just at the end of the CD after the music fades out you suddenly get a loud American voice saying \"AUDIBLE HOPES YOU HAVE ENJOYED THIS PROGRAMME!\" which completely ruins the effect and jolts me back awake, hence rendering the recording useless. And because it's an Audible protected track I can't even edit out the last 4 seconds. Very bad show Audible since there is already a \"this is audible\" voice on the beginning of the track. Otherwise I would give this recording 4 or 5 stars.
The first 5 minutes of the audio is an overview of how to prepare for a good sleep. The comments state obvious steps and I find that I always skip to the 5 min mark and start listening from there. The remaining 14 mins though are very soothing and find that I fall asleep very quickly once the audio is finished.
For the price, it it is still worth getting.
I have been listening to this every night for a week or so. At first it was not quite enough, although when I did eventually fall asleep I did not wake as much as usual. The past few nights I have fallen asleep much quicker and have not woken at all, so much so that I really feel rested. It works!
The narrator leads you into relaxation swiftly and expertly. He doesn't rely on vague stories or imagery to do it, so if you have a mind like mine, you're not distracted by thoughts on the efficacy of what is being suggested.
The narrator's voice is very calm and gentle. The layering of his voice, so that he's saying different things to induce sleep in each ear, is particularly effective.
A film of this would perhaps defeat the purpose of falling asleep and staying asleep.
After recognising the effectiveness of this audio book, I bought another by the same person. I hope it is as good as this one.
Not worth it. He strangely extends and slurs his words - it just sounds unnatural and I notice even more the longer I listen to this. There are better meditation coaches.
Darren Marks is a good hypno therapist, but not a great one. His very strong Cockney accent is a little too sharp to be relaxing. 6.5 / 10
