I have read and listened to a load of books about self-esteem but this is the only one that actually produced proper, and lasting, results for me. Excellent narration. I already had this book in print format and thought it was great, but for me it was only really with the audio version that it all really started to make sense.
A great book and one I have zero problems recommending time and time again.
As a girl it's hard to admit to yourself that you have a problem. Due to certain parent issues I believed myself to be unlovable and not worthy of anything good. My self talk was mostly negative and I had a hard time standing up for myself. I faked it very well so no one would know that I was the unlovable person I believed I was. This book, along with her workbook, truly opened my eyes and helped me to see that my mindset was still holding on to beliefs I made when I was a kid. This book helped me so much that I actually had a friend tell me I seemed different and more confident. (Keep in mind I told no one I was reading and applying the exercises in this book to my life as I was too embarrassed to tell anyone.) This book is not about pointing blame, it's about understanding why you think the way you do so you can make a positive change in your life. Definitely a great read and a book to be recommended by all. There are life lessons in here that most people couldn't even imagine. Incredible!
A very helpful book the has changed everything for me.
Lets be honest here, this is a very very difficult subject to tackle. I have been dealing with Self-Esteem issues all my life. I have good times and bad times but never really feel stable. I have read a lot of books on tis subject. Some did help a bit, many didn’t. To be absolutely honest this is the first one where I didn’t feel like i was being patronised nor did I feel like i was listening to a medical journal. It was proper advice that actually worked!! Everything felt well researched and comes from people who have ACTUALLY suffered from self-esteem issues, not just what a doctor thinks it might feel like.
I have a long journey to go but i will be honest and say I have never felt so hopeful about the future. This book has given me the tools to get on with my life and rebuild my self-esteem in a more sustainable and lasting way and for that I am eternally grateful.
I recommend this book to anyone suffering from self-esteem issues as well as anxiety and depression. Thanks, 5/5.
No crap, just good solid advice to help raise your self-esteem and deal with the issues that keep dragging some of us down. Learnt some new things in this book I had not thought of or read before.
Good narration, struck a very good balance between engaging and easy to listen to. I cannot say this book will work for everyone but i CAN say this book has definitely worked for me and my self-esteem seems to be rising on a daily basis improving my overall quality of life.

First one but really enjoyed the narration, was easy to listen to.
In all honesty, pretty much every single section something really hit me and made me think about my life in a totally different way.
Living with low self-esteem is horrific - I should know, I have been living like this for much of my adult life. Got this book a while ago on print and loved it but thought i would get it on audio too, so I could listen to it anywhere.
I have checked out a lot (and i meant a LOT) of books in this genre but this is by far my fave. Its my fave because its the only one that had any real and lasting impact. Really simple to understand, short and to the point and awesome value for money.

Of course yes, The way Heather Tuya narrated each and every sentence made reading it a delight.
I would have to go with Miss Heather, she voiced very well, she made it easy to navigate through the content.
She has done a remarkable job here even though I don't quite remember hearing her before. She was the guide that made the book a pleasant sight.

This book made me know myself, know what I am worth and know that I have a lot yet to give back to this world. It made me grow character and to embrace myself, I really don't think there can be a better guide.

Low self esteem ruins a person life. everything looks negative, people criticize themselves. I was one of them too until I read this book. this book shares how good self esteem can be gained and how it can change one's point of opinion. the main thing the book teaches us is how to find ourselves even in the darkness, it is about embracing yourself and being happy about it. this book is based on personal experiences, mostly about how to deal with the negative feeling which often kills us inside. this is what low self esteem is, the social anxiety, the hatred often envy too. We need motivation this book is here to motivate, build confidence most importantly build self esteem. would recommend this book to nearly everyone.
Recovering from low self-esteem is a difficult journey and there is no quick cure - this book does not claim to provide this. Instead it provides good practical solid advice and tips that are easy to implement on your own life. I have read and listened to a lot of books like this but this is my favorite so far. Narration was excellent too, it managed the fine art of being engaging without being annoying.
One of the best parts of this book, certainly memorable, was the section about how to actually deal with your feelings. The author explains that a lot of times our pasts reflect how we see ourselves, and we need to get to the root of those issues before we can move on and see ourselves in a more accurate and positive light.
I enjoyed her voice, though I don't recall hearing her in any other books. I thought that she had a compassionate yet positive tone that really set the stage for the author's words.
Definitely, this is one of the better books on the subject that I've read. I work in the mental health profession, and I'm always looking for new teaching tools to help my clients. This one was just right for laypeople as well as someone a little more seasoned in the self-help genre.
I'm not just hired to counsel people -- I'm also "people" myself! This book repositioned challenges into opportunities, and negative feelings into chances to learn and grow. I have been going through some personal transitions lately and this book made me really step back and take a look at myself. I think this will make me a better person as well as better at helping others too.
This book has helped me so much. It takes a personal approach to self esteem and self beliefs. Rather than offering vague advice, Alison teaches you how to explore your individual experiences and discover how they've shaped who you are. After reading through it and following the exercises I feel like I understand myself so much better and I'm finally learning how to really love myself. I think this book could benefit just about anyone, regardless of what type of life they've lived. What an incredible journey of self discovery and improvement!

Well explained practical strategies you can implement yourself or teach others. it easy to understand where lowered self esteem comes from and how to Recover from Low Self-Esteem. It's worth the price if you want to use with clients and makes a great self-help. I only wish I'd found it sooner!

I am 23 working and schooling.
I have a big problem and that has to do with self esteem..
I couldn't muster up courage to flow with my mate, I couldn't even talk to girls or answer questions confidently in class.
my dentition wasn't and still isn't perfect and it affected me a lot.
But then towards the end of school I started reading some books about building ones self esteem and this Fast proven treatment happens to be the best so far,

Having an audio or print version is totally a personal choice. I went with the audio version and it is simply amazing. Story is narrated very well and the sound is clear and crisp.
I have read some books before although they were good but this book outstanding. It have uniqueness of story and explaining things and encouraging us for good things. According to my views its the best book and everybody should go for it.
I was having real hard time with my career.
I am a IT freelancer and working from last two years. I spend most of my time on my pc and don't hang around much.
Everything was going well, I was spending time working and earning. But 6-7 months ago I started loosing work and clients. I was calm as thought of it as a temporary phase but it came out as a long one. With passing times I was losing hope and 3 months ago I lost all of my work and got nothing to do. I was so scared and worried. I was full of negative thoughts. I had to earn to live. I lost all my self esteem that I started working at a restaurent at very low(half) as compared to other doing same job. Due to my tight conditions some people took advantage to that and made fun of me and made me work more then I deserved. I was so worried I kept listening to them without saying anything. My friend suggested me to read such encouraging books. I read two books before this. they were just ok and could not affect me. Then i got this audio book. This book told me several unique ways and ideas to live a positive life. I started applying those ideas into my life and slowly start getting results. By following the instructions and ways I turned my self from a negatively filled individual to a positive and forward looking guy. Now again I am a happy guy and with more positivity and efforts I am getting my work pace back.

I have read a lot of books about self-esteem, always searching for something to help me feel better - this is the ONLY one that has been of any use. Do not expect an overnight cure if you are not prepared to do the work, but really, this book will help you if you actually do really want to get better. It had some very original ideas I had not heard and was written in a very interesting way. I will be recommending this to a lot of people and felt the need to leave this review to say thanks.

yes i would, because it has been very helpful in the area of self confidence, mind control and Goal setting. it exposed a lot of truth and facts i always ignored and took for granted. it made me realise that i am not paying much attention to my mind and Body, the book exposed solutions to low self-esteem, after analysing its causes.
it is also very practical and well organised.
This audio book is an excellent guide to building a high self-esteem. My mind will surely need more of it until it is totally absorbed.
I will compare this book with JOHN MASON'S BOOK "IMITATION IS LIMITATION" because it was able to uncover and explain the fact that the way we think about ourselves affects our actions and expressions, we are being limited by the feeling that we are imperfect and it only leaves us feeling depressed.
Though this is the first of her performance i have listened to, she was very crisp in her pronunciations and articulations. i must say her performance is just perfect.
Building your confidence level
There are books that touch the mind, while others touch the soul. This book I must confess has touched my mind and soul. It is quite true that at one point in one's life, one unconsciously develops low self-esteem. I developed a low self-esteem as a result of what I experienced earlier in my life and it affected how I react to events and how I view people around me. I have come to realise that I am not the only one who is experiencing this.
DR. JENNIFER ALISON has done a great job, which by all indication as observed by myself is born out of deep research and insight, she has also shown that all we need to develop our self-esteem is within us, by just building up the right mindset and attitude. Special thanks to the author for this great piece. Anyone who is having any form of low self-esteem should get this book as an antidote. The author has a great sense of humour and she is very practical.

Its ideas are easy to apply. In particular, I found the story line and the author's style succinct. Straight to the point.
As a young guy, I used to dread delivering talks in front of a large audience. Times without number, I had been called upon to deliver one form of speech or the other, either in formal occasions or during informal gatherings. At such instances, I would politely decline the requests due to my low self-esteem.

I had high hopes for this recording, but I can honestly say that it exceeded my expectations. I found myself nodding along as I was read characteristics of low-self esteem, and was genuinely excited to hear Alison's solutions. The analysis was well balanced, and no assumptions were made about the audience's experiences - rather, the book suggested strategies and made reasoned arguments for them. I think the performance was excellently articulated, calm, and positive. There is a high chance that I'll find myself listening through the recording a second time.
A very practical guide on how to permanently recover from low self-esteem and become confident again. I lost a great deal of self-esteem a few years ago, when I started balding, and this audiobook is the one that helped me the most! There are some amazing tips and steps for building confidence that I couldn’t find anywhere else. I feel very motivated after listening to this audiobook, and I will definitely re-listen.
This is a very useful and helpful self-help guide, full of great tips and information on how to overcome low self-esteem and raise confidence quickly.
