    "No nonsense, easy to listen too, and it worked"

    A difficult topic to tackle but one which this book does very well at. I liked the fact that it got to the point very quickly and gave me some advice and things I could actually do myself, not just endless tests and medical nonsense. No one should expect to listen to one book and suddenly be cured of this awful affliction but I can sincerely say this helped me a LOT and also a friend who i recommended it to. Good narration, easy to listen to. I have it in print too but I prefer the audio version, so that I can listen to it on the way to work and on the way to difficult situations where I used to panic. Thanks, great book.

    Really useful book, it had such a great positive effect on me. Nobody can be cured from this awful curse from this with one quick book, but it does really put you on the right path. Recommended for anyone struggling with panic attacks or anxiety!

    I have been dealing with panic attacks and anxiety (at different levels) for much of my life. I have read and listened to a lot of books in this general area. Some are ok, many are rubbish. This one is GREAT. What is most surprising is, it is the cheapest and shortest book i have on the subject but maybe that is the point...so many of the books are full of nonsense which doesn't help. This book is simple, original and to the point.

    I cannot recommend this highly enough. A great companion in my daily struggle to overcome this awful illness. Thanks to the author.

    Dr. Jennifer Alison has offered a great resource to those suffering with these very debilitating conditions. My best friend has been stricken with an Anxiety disorder for the better part of a year and it's been very difficult to watch and experience. I've done all that I can to learn more about how to be a good support and to learn more about what it is she's dealing with. Dr. Alison has packed SO MUCH into this short audiobook, I haven't been able to stop telling my friends and loved ones about this text.

    The narrator does such a remarkable job navigating through the book and her voice is wonderfully soothing. Something I think sufferers with these conditions will truly appreciate. I love the way Dr. Alison has included sensible exercises and tips to help those suffering realize that they don't have to suffer forever. Bravo! 5/5 for me, for sure.

    That it actually helped me. Wasn't just the usual nonsense.

    I can only recall three self-help books that had a radical effect on my life and this audiobook is one of them. I have a mild anxiety with panic attacks since childhood, and this condition was so debilitating that I spent months not leaving my house in the past. But after listening to this audiobook, I've learned so much, and it helped me develop new methods on how to deal with my anxiety and panic attacks. Now I regularly listen to it on my way to work and feel much better. If you have a social anxiety, general anxiety, panic attacks or some other kind of this disorder, the tools you need to overcome your fears are in here!

    As someone who has suffered with panic attacks for years, I've read a LOT of self help books on the subject and very few of them have actually helped me. Jennifer Alison's approach to panic and anxiety is intelligent, easy to follow, and most importantly, effective! So glad I bought this book. I can't believe how much it's helped me! Highly recommend.

    Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

    Yes of course, I already gave the book to a few of them and they seem to be loving it.


    Who was your favorite character and why?

    I think Jennifer Dorr did a wonderful job here with narrating the whole book and she was the character that gave it it's essence.


    Have you listened to any of Jennifer Dorr’s other performances? How does this one compare?

    I don't think I heard from her earlier but this book narrated by her is amazing. Especially the way she guides us through.


    Any additional comments?

    This is the jam-packed guide towards helping one out on getting control of his anxiousness. I always had somewhat a nervous breakdown either in between or before my exams and I think now I'm ready to face it all.

    Much easier to listen to an audiobook than real a physical book these days and her voice is good to listen to.

    What made the experience of listening to Panic Attacks & Anxiety the most enjoyable?

    I was interested in finding out more ways to reduce my panic attacks. I get worked up over practically nothing. When your crying and gasping for air and you can't even talk right and your stuttering because you are so worked up it taxes your body. On the plus side you sleep like a rock that night.


    What was one of the most memorable moments of Panic Attacks & Anxiety?

    The biological reasons for why you have panic attacks. That part was very interesting to me on a personal level.


    Which scene was your favorite?

    There aren't scenes. My favorite "section" was the first half where you learn what causes and triggers panic attacks and how to identify when you are about to have one.


    Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    I didn't laugh or cry, I was in more of a solid intrigue state. I want to know more about why I am the way I am. Why do I get so stressed out, why do I do this to myself over stupid little things. My reactions were more like the lightbulb going on above my head when figuring something out and understanding the reasoning behind something.

    This book was very helpful! Very informative. And really explanatory especially in areas that we don't understand. Enjoyable to read. Although I would often get panic attacks as I listened to the book being narrated, it was most helpful. Thank you

    "This book opened my eyes."

    I wasn't sure if I was having panic attacks before. I kept going to the doctor and everything would check out OK. But after reading this book I realized that I have been having panic attacks and could relate with symptoms In this book. This book helped me understand what I have and has give me the confidence that I needed to beat it.

    I have checked out probably 5 books to do with anxiety, panic attacks and related disorders and to me this is by far the best!

    What does Jennifer Dorr bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    I really liked her voice, was very nice to listen to. I prefer audiobooks for this sort of subject as it means I can listen to it anywhere, especially when feeling nervous (I listened it to this morning on the drive to work as I was worried about a meeting)


    Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    I know it sounds obvious and maybe simplistic - but just the dawning realisation that I COULD and WAS getting better..that was pretty mind blowing.


    Any additional comments?

    Panic attacks, anxiety and related disorders are horrific things to deal with. Getting help is essential. Never be ashamed to ask for help.

    I asked for help and got recommended this book and i can see why.

    I was a little dubious at first (as I have wasted a lot of money on other books like this!) but really, this helped a lot. Everything was simple and easy to follow and I found it all incredibly useful and helpful.

    Enjoyable is maybe the wrong word, but what made it so great is it actually WORKED. Finally, i felt i got some of the help i have always craved.

    Its just much easier to listen to a book like this than read it, and she has a great and easy to listen to / follow voice.

    So great. I have went thru endless books on this subject and whilst i did get SOME help, this is the first book that REALLY helped. Everything was just laid out in such a neat, easy to follow way.

    I still have work to do but my problems with panic attacks and anxiety (which have plagued me for YEARS) are now vastly vastly better and continue to improve every single day. I have this book to thank for that.

    When it comes to books about anxiety or panic, this is definitely the best (I have went thru at least ten!)


    What was one of the most memorable moments of Panic Attacks & Anxiety?

    Probably the second half of it, when it just gave a lot of very practicable and east to follow advice.


    Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Not one particular moment, just the slow realisation that this awful affliction I have CAN be cured. A magical moment.

    I have lived with panic and anxiety for years, at various degrees, from minor to VERY severe. I have went thru so many books but find most of them to be like medical journals, or worse than that, very patronising. This book was different. I learnt a lot in a very short time, everything was laid out precisely and to the point, no wasting time or pointless exercises. I would have paid ten times the price for this book, so it is amazing it is so cheap. I am not totally cured yet but I am so much better than i was before this book. Thanks

    General anxiety and panic attacks around certain situations have plagued me throughout my life. Whilst this book is not a miracle cure (nor does it claim to be) it has helped me a lot. I already feel so much better equipped to deal with certain situations.
