New York Times best-selling author and award-winning educator Ron Clark applies his successful leadership principles to the business world in this effective and accessible guidebook, perfect for any manager looking to inspire and motivate his or her team.
Teamwork is crucial to the success of any business, and as acclaimed author and speaker Ron Clark illustrates, the members of any team are the key to unlocking success. Imagine a company as a bus filled with people who either help or hinder a team's ability to move it forward: drivers (who steer the organization), runners (who consistently go above and beyond for the good of the organization), joggers (who do their jobs without pushing themselves), walkers (who are just getting pulled along), and riders (who hinder success and drag the team down). It's the team leader's job to recognize how members fall into these categories, encourage them to keep the "bus" moving by working together, and know when it's time to kick the riders off.
In the tradition of Who Moved My Cheese? and Fish!, Move Your Bus is an accessible and uplifting business parable that illustrates Clark's expert strategies to maximize the performance of each member of a team. These easy to implement techniques will inspire employees and team leaders alike to work harder and smarter and drive the organization to succeed.

Part of this was good and this mentality is not new it's an old system. You as a person dedicate yourself to the business, but in today's world the business does not dedicate itself to you. So why runner can go above and beyond in the end this is not your grandma company where they took care of you the rest of your life and when a book tells you in your personal life if your spouse or somebody else is not standing par you should dump them. This mentality is not one that brings us as a society but drives us to be devote all of are time to work and drop those that need strong people in there life.
Words can not describe how inspiring and uplifting Move Your Bus is. Especially with the added BONUS of Ron Clark reading it! Love, love, love!
This is great! It makes me want to move my bus, and keep it moving!
"So glad I heard it with Ron Clark's voice!"
His personality really comes through when he is reading. It was as if I was at one of his talks.
"Want to be a Runner?"
Ron did a great job narrating his story. Him doing the narration himself really made you feel like he was talking to you personally. This book helps you to reflect on how you are as a part of your work team, and ways that you can be better. Worth the read even if you are not a principal or CEO.
"Inspiring and rejuvenating"
The epilog story brought tears to my eyes and inspired me to stop the bus when changing the lives of others.
This is one of my favorite audiobooks. One of the main reasons I enjoy Ron Clark's books is the way he reads them. His voice is so great:)
I liked his summary of all the types of employees. It is so true in any work environment, not just education. I have worked in both the business world and the education world, and he is spot on.
I loved when he spoke about Walking Wanda. There are so many teachers like this, yet it is nearly impossible to either motivate them, or get rid of them! Sad in education, but Mr. Clark gave strong advice about how to avoid Wandas and how to keep yourself a runner.
This book is great if you are a manager or principal looking to improve the work environment in your charge.
This is one of the best book that I have listen to and have read. You truly can make changes if you read, understand, and "Move Your Bus".
"A decent listen"
Not sure as I've not read the print version
Enjoyed the personalization of the story providing real life examples for success habits. The education setting vs private industry was an added twist that fit with my personal experience. Bottom line...ultimately the best habits lead to the best results in both settings and good management and leadership steer the bus. His assessments were spot on, I thought, for how to manage the different types of staff.
Loved his characterizations of driver, runners, joggers, walkers, riders. His intonation and "voices" of the various characters brought them to life. It helped to keep my interest and made this "not just another business book."
Insights into how to lead, manage and reward the various characters on the bus even in a "non-business" setting. I think I'd love working with Ron.
What an inspiring way to look at leadership and an eye opener about what kind of person you are. I realized that I am not truly a runner as I thought, but rather a jogger. I have a newfound sense of passion to turn around my teaching and my business and become a true runner who creates a lasting impact on my students and employees. Thank you Ron for another amazing read. I can't wait to see what you write next.
