This book explores the use of mindfulness meditation as a practical tool for improved time management. When we take control of our personal time machine - our mind - we can take the passage of time under our control.
Mindfulness meditation techniques can be used to get more done in less time, and with less effort. When we are mindful about how we spend and invest our time, we free ourselves from a self-imposed enslavement to time.
Like a clock face and the seasons, the book is naturally divided into quarters. The first quarter, entitled "First Tickings", explores how we have become so time poor in our modern-day society. In the second quarter, "Perceptions of Time", the subjective nature of time is explained and explored. In the third quarter, "Managing Time", the book introduces the concept of "Extended Me Time" (or EMT) and how every minute we spend meditating pays back many times over. The fourth quarter explores the esoteric theme of "Temporal Alchemy". When we see time as a dimension our minds can interact with and manipulate, we can save much more time.
All in all, this book is a temporal tour de force and, in many ways, both ahead of its time and simultaneously taking time right back to its roots and first tickings.

A great audiobook with the added benefit of guided visualisations too ;-)
Tom's wisdom is deep, so I will be listening to this several times.
Thoroughly recommended to those wanting an insight into time and its many layers.
OK. I gain a lot from reviews, so I'm leaving one for this book. Before listening I suggest you take a second or two and draw a mental line in the sand. One side of the line label 'i believe in science fact' and on the other label 'i am very open minded'. if you are on the science side, don't bother with this. if you are on the other side of the line and want to hear tales from a kindred spirit, but and listen as fast as you can.
My problem is not the book, it's probably my expectations of the book. I was hoping for some takeaway information on how I can manage my time (I'm a big fan of mindfulness so the write up appealed to me).
however, this book would better be described as one person's journey to experience time via meditation, angel guidance, fate, universal intervention etc etc.
A completely different take on managing your time. I particularly enjoyed the first three quarters and the dream bullets exercise. And the added bonus of guided visualisations at the end.
I am afraid that the best way to save yourself a few hours is to avoid listening this book. Poorly produced, difficult voice to listen to, no new ideas, lots of banal references to pad it out.
This book has been helpful, interesting and informative.
The chapter on future entanglement has particularly intrigued me
I have listened to some of the Zone Show podcasts, it was helpful to listen to an entire book.
I found it absorbing, it resonated with me and I felt 'warm fuzzy' throughout .
I learnt a lot from this book. I found it beneficial to also buy the paperback because there are many parts I want to review and exercises I want to practise. Listening and reading help me to grasp concepts and remember facts more easily. Another excellent book. Thank you Tom! Much appreciated.
