Ha! I bought this as a fathers day present and kept it for my self, its that good. I never thought of myself as any kind of conspiracy theorist or interested in this stuff...but hey, some of the worlds biggest organisations were started as secret societies you know!!
This is an entertaining and very valuable exercise in dealing with life situations using secret societies as the model on which to hang problems that we come up against all the time. Nick Harding has insight into human behaviour and effectively puts a different light on them, making them easier to deal with when they appear to be problematic. Beautifully and clearly narated.
A friend recommended this one to me and they were right when they said it was seriously entertaining. Both an interesting and enjoyable listen delivered beautifully by the narrator.
This book is really two books in one - a serious study and an entertaining parody.
Once you realize that the author, Nick Harding, arbitrarily mixes the two approaches you are in for a great listen.
Of particular brilliance is the description of the inauguration ceremony he witnessed wherein a new member was brought into a secret society. It reads like one of the finest of Monty Python sketches!
