Bring your home out of the mess it's in and learn how to keep it under control.
"The dirty little secret about most organizing advice is that it's written by organized people," says blogger, speaker, and decluttering expert Dana K. White. "But that's not how my brain works. I'm lost on page three."
Dana blogs at A Slob Comes Clean, chronicling her successes and failures with her self-described "deslobification process". In the beginning she used the name Nony (short for aNONYmous), because she was sharing her deep, dark slob secret. Now she has truly come clean - with not only her real name but the strategies she has developed, tested, and proved in her own home. She has learned what it takes to bring a home out of disaster status, which habits make the biggest and most lasting impact, and how to keep clutter under control.
In How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind, Dana explains that cleaning your house is not a onetime project but a series of ongoing premade decisions. Her reality-based cleaning and organizing techniques debunk the biggest housekeeping fantasies and help listeners learn what really works.
Chapter titles include:
With a huge helping of empathy and humor, Dana provides a step-by-step process with strategies for getting rid of enormous amounts of stuff in as little time (and with as little emotional drama) as possible.

Even if you do your dishes every day clean your kitchen floor do read this book.
It is for readers who are not very organised.
If you need ideas to organise your closet and how to make your house Pinterest worthy than this book is not for you.
I love one thing about this book is it changes your mindset.
Dana K White is a very funny writer and podcast broadcaster
. Her tone is encouraging and humble. Her goals realistic and simple.
My home may never be magazine worthy, but my mind is no longer overwhelmed and anxious, which is most important.
This is not a book full of technical checklists and exhaustive plans. I think it's better for it. I'll listen to this again and again while I'm cleaning or decluttering.
I'm so glad, too that the author read the book. Her voice is lovely both here, and on her podcast.
"A book on cleaning that you will be entertained by"
One of my absolute favorites!
It sounds JUST like her podcasts. And I love her podcasts.
YES! Her website, and podcasts. This is just slightly more organized.
So excited that I was able to get this on audio book. (I've just discovered Audible by the way! Where has THAT been my entire life??) I decided to make yesterday (Monday) laundry day. I loved that I was listening to your book (and I ADORE that you're the one reading it) while I was folding and putting away laundry. I laughed hysterically on the part about children never seeming to remember where the hamper is. Oh my goodness gracious. Isn't that the absolute truth. The concept of decluttering turning into a worse mess because you're just relocating the mess instead of purging it. Life changing. I've always thought there was something wrong with me. Why couldn't I have a clean house? Like ever? Why am I always drowning in laundry and dishes???? MAKING myself do the dishes and run the dishwasher every night truly is a game changer. This is my first week attempting a laundry day. Wish me luck. ;)
Thanks Dana so much for following your passion and what God has led you to do. You've helped so many women! Amazing what God calls us to do isn't it!?!? Much love!!
It was so good. Dana recorded it beautifully and is so motivating and expiring. Thank you!
"Practical, yet profound! "
Dana (Noni's) advice is so simple, yet so AMAZINGLY helpful! Very encouraging as well!
"A Slob Loves This Book"
Dana is fantastically and unabashedly honest about how big of a slob she is and I relate to that more than I care to. I was inspired toward REAL change toward my home without feeling overwhelmed.
"I have never related more to a writer!"
if I read experts from this book to my family they would swear I had written it. clutter blindness and time issues have ruled my life for 30 years. thanks to this book and her blog and podcast I finally understand myself and feel less overwhelmed and alone!
"She Gets Me!!"
Finally, a self-help book that actually works. Dana k. White gets down to the nitty-gritty of home management. No sweet talking or deep thinking. This is truly the lazy girl's guide to organization.
I love when she gives the Ultimate Number 1 Rule "Just wash the dishes!"
"For Untidy People"
This book is a real help for anyone wanting to change their slob habits. It has valuable insight on how to get things done in your house. I would recommend it to any man or woman who does their own house keeping.
I've listened maybe three times now. Very enjoyable read. Superbly narrated by the author. The author's perspective and approach have been illuminating and applying her approach has been doable and impacrful in my home. I find myself just doing the things I need to do to keep our home so much more under control. And that generates a lot of HOPE!
