I recommend the book as a busy, working mum who does not cope well with her own emotional side. I’m certainly one of those people whose emotions always work against me, not for my benefit. Surprisingly, several techniques from McCloud’s guide, when applied in everyday situations, have helped me to recognise some of my emotional states, prepare myself for certain feelings and better manage my anger. Quite cheap self-therapy session.
Good compendium of knowledge concerning tips and technics for managing emotions. Importantly, all the author’s advices are based on long-term research, experiments and scientific studies. Pleasant to listen to, thanks to enthusiastic lector as well as simple, sometimes humoristic writing style.
Also, what I have found helpful, McCloud’s book includes many great motivational statements, like “we are what we think” etc., which became my credo and kept reminding me of everyday affirmations (so important for good emotional health).
Certainly worth listening to if you value your emotional relationships with others and most of all your own mental health. In my opinion, everyone should take some time from their busy schedules to do some of the exercises mentioned in the guide.
I have been feeling super emotional recently and it has started to have an affect on my physical health and energy levels, so when I saw this audio book I was extremely intrigued and knew that I just had to listen to it.
I was not disappointed, it really helped me to understand my emotions and provided me with simple ways in which to control them or harness them to my advantage rather than let them overwhelm me and hold me back. It is full of practical advice and information that I really appreciated. It also helped put my mind at rest that I'm not alone in feeling the way i do sometimes, so I definitely feel assured and motivated after listening to this audio book.

This book is an excellent resource for anyone looking to better understand and control their emotions. Not only was the book easy to understand, but I also really appreciated the range of strategies for gaining control of your emotions that the author included. Everyone is different, so it only makes sense that some techniques that work well for one person may not work well for another. WIth this book, you don't have to choose--if one doesn't work, there are 99 other methods to try! It is not secret that controlling your emotions is critical to a happy, successful life; after reading this book, I feel as though I am well on my way to harnessing that power.
This is an excellent overview of the subject of emotions, and an audio that goes hand in hand with the audio book, 'Happiness', by the same author. Emotions covers so many aspects of emotional health and well-being and I found it particularly helpful in the area of not giving emotion a moral label. All emotion is a normal part of being human. Emotions are not "good" or "bad", and as such should not be suppressed and internalised, or cause us to feel guilt and shame. Everything is covered from the physical effects of emotion, to practices like mindfulness and meditation that help us to balance our internal world. There are many examples of life experiences (from owning a pet to walking in the sunshine) that help us to maintain a healthy emotional outlook. A smashing book, full of practical advice designed to help you to nurture emotional prosperity. I needed a pen and paper and the pause button though - as there are loads of references to help you explore topics you are interested in through material from around the internet.
I always knew that being an overly emotional person was never going to help me in the workplace, but this book made me realise just how many benefits come with full emotional control. Not only did it make me realise its importance, it also provide such a great variety of hints and tips to get me on the path to full emotional mastery! All of the techniques well simple and easy to implement meaning that I could start changing my life straight away!

The most enjoyable is advise is that you don’t need any expensive therapy because all skills to control emotions are inside you!
“Emotions…” helps you to release your self-help skills when you angry, anxious or crying too much. McCloud helps you to avoid stigma like you shouldn’t cry, shouldn’t show your emotions or don’t admit that you have problems and go to the doctor. That is wrong when you hidden your emotions and leading to devastating effects on your health.
“Emotions…” shows how important is conquer your shame and fear and ask for help yours friend, people who has similar problems and can gives you support.
That makes "Emotions" really positive book and it is pleasure to read it.
It is psychological book, so don't have certain characters. You can be the main character and I like the way how I can compare my emotional reactions to certain situations. I like the advises like - "Stop making yourself down and concentrate how you can relax and balance your emotions". You can use massage, aromatherapy , sport exercises or socializing. Also you can take advantage of bad emotions to change it in something positive like art, craft, poetry, songs or cooking. You can learn how to be gratitude when bad emotions are away and you start appreciate what you have.
The most amusing moment is a situation how you distance yourself from harmful people, that deliberately want to make you down. You can imagine them as a characters from cartoon, and how they shrink and disappear and they voice becomes tiny and ridiculous. You should also distance from stressful situations and focused on things that you enjoy. I love advice to have a pet like cats. I have two and they can be very relaxing and supporting in stressful.
I was really surprising that bad emotions are helpful as well as good, because it help you feel differently and see more clearly that something wrong happened. It is a kind of warning that leading you to resolve yours problems. The most helpful are recognize how your body react on certain emotion, how you talk, walk, smile. If you stop eating, have back pain, you are more louder, agitated or quiet and lifeless.
A great book, very positive and optimistic, help you to distance from your bad emotions and bad people.
One of the many good things this book made me realise is that I am the captain of my ship which means that I should take control of my emotions and to never let it cloud my judgment. Oftentimes, when we’re mad or sad, we are not exactly in a good position to make any decision whatever the subject is. This is because our emotions affect the way we act, talk and think.
This book gives really good tips and techniques about how to channel our emotions. I have learned that I should stop letting negative emotions take over and to always control my thoughts. I got this audio book becuase I struggle with loads of emotions that keep me awake at night. The book is really helpful when it comes to telling you at what emotions you should focus and have a good point about writing down your positive emotions. It shows that negative emotions can you give actual physical symptoms which was quite a suprise for me - that constant stress and tiredness might have a huge impact on your life. It's important to have a distance to your emotions and learn to use them in the most efficent way - and this is what this audio book is trying to teach.
"Helpful Exercises to Master Your Feelings"
I’ll start by saying I read “Emotions” when I was at a bit of a low point; I have some generalized anxiety, and my life has a number of stressors at the moment. I tend to let my emotions get the better of me – I get SO sad and SO angry and SO anxious.
This book was very helpful. It lists 100 different exercises for maintaining good emotional health based upon an important premise – that emotions are neither good nor bad. I had never really considered that prior to listening to this book; I knew that anger can be healthy and that it can be good to cry, but I still considered anger and sadness to be negative emotions. This book presupposes that they are not negative emotions, but neutral, and when felt and dealt with properly, they can be just as beneficial as happiness.
The 100 exercises range in their usefulness, but they focus on giving yourself permission to feel your feelings, checking in on your mental state, watching how your body reacts to your emotional state, learning to say no to others and to forgive others, and taking care of yourself physically. I particularly liked the suggestion that you can change your physical posture to initiate an emotional change: can you feel happy if you’re slouched and scowling?
Regarding the audiobook, the narrator was enthusiastic and positive, and the reading was well-paced. A good buy.
"Use Your Emotions for Success and Prosperity"
I liked how it took emotions, which are sometimes looked upon as hindering people, and turning them around to help ground people and make them successful.
I enjoyed the exercises that encouraged stability of emotions and how to identify when an emotion is in action. Sometimes you just don't realize your emotions are dictating what you do and what you say, and this book address that and much more giving you things you can do to keep emotions from taking over your life.
Joshua Mackey makes this book come alive and talk to you as if your best friend is giving you advice. I have read this book too, but I very much enjoyed listening to it. Sometimes when you read, you gloss over things and when it is read to you; that doesn't happen. I got more out of it from having it read by Mr. Mackey.
Not really, but I did have an ah-ha moment about switching around your thinking and keeping emotion positive instead of negative. This is paramount in being a success and I think if more people read this part, we would have a more stable world.
You usually do not see how emotions are dictating what you do everyday. If you can harness the energy that emotions bring and change them to benefit your life, you have no other option but to be successful. This book teaches you how to do that. It is just a little thing you do, but it makes a world of difference.

Emotions by Ace McCloud helped me learn how to better control and understand my emotions so I never let them influence my decisions again. The exercises in this book are great and helpful. They're easy enough for anyone to try.
"Understand Your Emotions, and Take Hold"
Before I listened to "Emotions," I had another audio book that was my favorite. I can honestly say that this book is my favorite. For the longest time I have suffered with Depression on top of Anxiety, and I did see my doctor. I have been on medication since.
I would have to compare "Emotions" to "Happiness," also written by Ace McCloud. As Ace said in the book "Sadness is essential, so we understand when we are happy." I use that phrase because happiness is an emotion.
Joshua Mackey once again brings Ace's words to life. I like when he begins a book by saying, "I want to thank you for purchasing..." They are Ace's words said with feeling.
The most memorable scene in this book, is when Ace talks about "Awareness." I especially like #5, "What have you done today?" I am one of those people who beats themselves up because of what I call the "should of, would of, could of. I bully myself constantly, but now I will take Ace's advice, and start that journal. Maybe it will help me I am worth something.
Many people have been calling me lazy and ungrateful. Does anyone realize that when you are told that over and over again, you start to believe it? Well, it's true, but I need to take Ace's advice, and say, "I am a good person, who has always been there for my family!"

We all know emotions can be overwhelming. I’ve struggled to control mine for quite some time. I would often find myself crying for no apparent reason or snapping at my loved ones for small missteps. The easy to understand book offers a wide range of techniques for all personality types. The part I found most helpful was the strategy of connecting with one’s body and learning how bodily sensations can be an indication of emotions. This is a great audio that has helped me a lot! I am finally at peace after struggling with so many negative emotions. This audio helped me take control of my mind and emotions and instead focus on the positive things in life and things I can be grateful for. The tapping techniques mentioned in here helped me the best, but the relaxation and forgiveness whee a big help as well. Highly recommended!
"Controlling My Emotions, Wow!"
Emotions is one issue that many people have never really understood including myself. Ace has written a wonderful book that's going to be very useful in my lifetime. I have learned several tips example been 'laugh and smile daily'. By laughing and smiling on a daily basis we get to have an emotional and physical release,isn't this great! .Get sociable is another tip. When we become sociable we normally get rid of loneliness and this is by interacting with others hence we suffer less anxiety and less period of low mood. This is a great lesson that I will surely apply. Grab this book and become great in managing your emotions. Well done Ace!
"Your Emotions don't have to control you"
You can control your emotions. It's not easy all the time. It's not easy most of the time. But using a book such as this one can help you gain at least some control and it will get easier over time. You have to build up a resilience within yourself and have the confidence to not let your circumstances or the other people in your life control how you feel. There are a lot of emotions we don't want, anger, jealousy, hatred, and it can be very difficult to fight against them. If you want to get better control of your emotions and the way you react to others, get this book.
