A number of individuals who indulge in emotional eating do so because they truly believe that they are experiencing hunger when they are not. These false feelings of hunger could actually be fatigue, pain, boredom, thirst or a lot of other sensations. In most cases, if you are incapable of telling whether you are hungry or not, this might be a true indication that you are really not hungry as yet. In the event that you have to deliberate on whether or not you are actually hungry, then no genuine physical hunger is there. When you are truly hungry, your body will send those signals and there will be no mistaking those real pangs of hunger. This is not to say that individuals should harbor feelings of guilt when food is consumed for reasons other than hunger or that food should be eaten only when individuals are hungry. However, establishing whether or not there is real hunger will assist in the process of avoiding the habit of emotional eating. It is very important to make every effort to find available foods that are healthy, appealing and not overly tempting when you are hungry but the foods should be kept out of sight in order to steer clear of the temptation of eating when not hungry.

Narrator kept on switching between addressing you and going into third person. Also felt like reading a shopping list.
Binge eaters know they do it, but this book does not give you any points on how to address these. If you could just stop it, you would.
The Emotional Eating Guide is a great source of valuable information on emotional or binge eating. There are many reasons why persons find themselves in this cycle but there is a way out of it. Paying attention to what you are doing and when you're doing it is the best way to learn if this is happening.
This book offers guidelines on how to break the cycle. Things a person can do before, during, and after a meal. As the book says, you must always consult your physician or nutritionist before attempting to make changes. One cannot starve the body and we have to eat and satisfy our cravings without over indulgence but there are many alternatives such as eating in and not out or if stuck having to eat out, asking for a child's meal or a senior meal which has smaller portions and less salt. The two main things I learned is to have a hobby and moderate exercise.
Alicia Bordon did a great job in relaying the information in this book clearly and in easy to understand terms.

This is a good guide books. One has to have self discipline though. Nice audiobook to listen to.
