    "No Poker Tips Here."

I would suggest this book to anyone who plays poker or has a someone close who plays poker. It will let you in on the mindset of a poker play. It is a great listen and I will probably listen again and again.Barry does a great job of narration and makes it an even better listen. If you are a poker player this is definitely one to put on your list.
Remember there are no tips in this books this is the story of Barry Greenstein.

    "Good poker book"

Although much of this book is about personal experiences of Barry's, it is a very interesting book which is very helpful. I have listened to it several times, and pick up something new each time.

One disadvantage to this as an audiobook is that you lose all of the illustrations. I looked at the book in the bookstore, and it is much easier to follow the poker instruction in print than in audio format.

I highly recommend this book, but you may want to consider buying the print version.

    "About Barry"

If one wishes to learn about Barry (won 1st tournament at 12, gives generously to charities, worked at -- not founded -- Symantics) this is the book for you. He includes much of his life story, his philosophies about poker as a profession (and about, curiously, horse betting), and speaks clearly about ethics in poker. One has to get to chapter 21 or so, however, to learn much about how to play poker. That Doyle Brunson would make the incredible statement that he, Doyle, learned from this book is silly. The book reads well, but it is not a handbook on how to play poker.

    "You can hear the regret"

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's clear he wishes he spent more time with his family and less gambling. He offers good insights into life as a gambler. Phil Gordon's book was more helpful in improving my game. I think Phil Helmuth's book will make you a bad player. Of course, I loved SUPER SYSTEM 2 by Doyle Brunson (wish it was on audio). That being said, Ace on the River is the most enjoyable of the "poker" books available at audible.com. I think his life lessons, like those given in SUPER SYSTEM 2, are as valuable as the strategies and techniques.

    "If you're a player it's worth it."

I really enjoyed this. You feel like you're hanging with Barry. There's a lot to learn despite some of the criticism. Attitude, strategy and even chaos math is covered. NOTE: the actual book has a lot of cool pictures.

"A Good Book For Serious Poker Players"

I would say that this book would be best suited for someone seriously considering (or already) playing poker as a livelihood. It was a little slow in parts where Barry tells his stories, as some were interesting, and some weren't to me. If you are looking for a book to teach the game, this is not the book for you. However, it does give very good insight to living the life as a poker player.

    "Aces all the way..!"

    Very informative, excellent read.
Barry do really apply his poker philosophy on the table when he plays.
After reading or listening to this book, it is a good follow up to go see his played hands on You Tube.

    Story
"Want to be a poker pro?"
What did you like best about this story?

It explains to most why you would not want to become a professional poker player. There is very little on poker itself. It talk about different poker games, not just holdem. I enjoyed the last few chapters the best.
