Marie Kondo is a Japanese consultant specializing in tidying. In The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. Kondo shares her simple method of tidying along with a wealth of insights into clutter, including what causes it and what types exist. Kondo also shares her own personal history and how that history led her to develop and refine her tidying method, referred to throughout the book as the KonMari Method....
People are not formally taught how to tidy, and many have difficulty learning as adults, resulting in homes that are cluttered. The KonMari Method substitutes for the class on tidying never offered at school, from which many could have benefited....
Tidying has benefits that go beyond the pleasure a person takes in an ordered household. In fact tidying can be life-changing, as it gives a person skills that are transferable to other life realms, such as occupations and relationships....

The author is not a fan, and whilst I appreciate cynicism and an analysis there is no apparent interest in the subject matter.
"Summarized the book jacket, that's it"
I didn't feel enough was provided in this summary, at least nothing that could not be gleaned from the books own summary available on Amazon for free. I expected a pared down, no fluff version of the exact tidying method that I could use to get started while I listen to the actual audiobook of the real book. This book just reiterated the bits you'd already know from reading a few reviews on Amazon and the book's own summary. Skip it.
"Get the Kindle book or hard copy instead!"
Having a different narrator, for one!
The book is so much better with a lively performance by a good female speaker.
Listening a man, dryly narrate Marie Kondo's method was simply uninteresting.
No, not in my opinion.
None, I'll be requesting a refund
"Super useful philosophy!"
Now I must hear the source book!
Better than I expected, inspiring!
This is a philosophy which I can apply to other areas of my life too!
This is a great "cliff notes" take on the Kon Mari method.
Concise, condensed take on the original book.
Yes, it is only 15 min long.
Great for those who don't want to slog through her full book and just want a quick up take on her method.
"15 minutes gave me a boost"
I've been struggling with too much stuff and with being and remaining organized forever. Was a bit afraid of the whole book because reviews said she suggests doing this all at once, which sounded overwhelming to me. This 15 minute review got me started, I have a pile of 2 tops and 15 books in my goodwill pile from the 15 minute version. I'm going to go on to the full book with the hopes I can really make more impact. Tough because my husband holds on to stuff as much or more than I do. How to find my stuff buried behind his stuff, hmmmm....
"Enjoyable Read & Analysis"
The basic principle about sorting for joy is incredibly insightful and valuable. Author could expand by offering practical suggestions on how to store kept items.
Loved it! I really appreciated the summary hitting very important high points of the book. It was like having a sample of a great recipe, you want more..
"A useful introduction."
I get the feel of the book and many key concepts and approaches. Worth a try.
"summary vs analysis"
I thought this would be mostly summary... but over 50% of this is just the instaread author's personal analysis of the book. no offense but I would rather hear more of the actual content from the book and form my own opinion after hearing it.
"Pretty good summary. Needs editing"
Needs to edit out some needless meandering. And this writer goes on a bit here and there with some additional comparative observations.
