Summary

Hollywood glamour meets handsome goofball. Jack Benny's irrepressible bandleader and his winsome wife star in this classic sitcom - raising their two daughters, and raising their voices…and, not just to sing. With a wise-guy sensibility that sounds positively contemporary, the chemistry between Phil Harris and Elliott Lewis (as Frankie Remley) is pitch-perfect. They click in a comic rhythm reminiscent of Jackie Gleason and Art Carney. Add Walter Tetley to the mix (as smart-alecky grocery boy Julius Abbruzio), and the results are glorious. Until recently, only scattered broadcasts from the RCA sponsored years were available. Nineteen of the twenty digitally restored and remastered episodes included in this collection are being introduced for the first time.

Episodes Include: "Brownie's Camping Trip" 10-22-50, "A Sick Phil Harris" 10-29-50, "Getting Out the Vote" 11-05-50, "Talking to Mr. Scott About Mentioning Sponsor's Name" 11-12-50, "Alice and the Kids Going to Palm Springs Without Phil" 11-19-50, "The Big Game on a New Television" 11-26-50, "What Is 'The Thing?'" 12-03-50, "Watering the Lawn" 12-10-50, "Buying Alice a Christmas Present" 12-17-50, "Annual Christmas Show With Andy Devine" 12-24-50, "Mr. Scott's New Years Party" 12-31-50, "Cutting The Band's Wages" 01-07-51, "The New Singer" 01-14-51, "The Pony" 01-21-51, "Red Cross Blood Drive" 01-28-51, "Helping Alice With the Household Budget" 02-04-51, "Are Phil and Alice Legally Married?" 02-11-51, "U.S.O.
