Summary

Seven years ago, Captain Jean-Luc Picard faced the judgement of the Q Continuum, a race of beings with godlike powers over time and space who presume to gauge humanity's fitness to exist in the galaxy. At that time, they suspended judgment, but now their decision has been reached: the human race will be eliminated, not only in the present, but throughout time. Humanity will have never existed. The only chance to save mankind lies with Captain Picard. An old enemy has granted him the power to revisit his life as it was seven years before, and experience his life 25 years in the future. But as he fights to save the human race from total extinction, Picard has been set up to be the unwitting agent of mankind's destruction. In his effort to save humanity, he must sacrifice himself and those he loves...perhaps more than once. And if their sacrifice fails, all mankind is doomed.

The explosive finale to the most successful syndicated drama ever!

Faithful To The Original Episode

I remember watching this episode a number of years ago, and I loved it. Q AND time travel, what a treat!!

This remains faithful to the original storyline, and Jonathan Frakes does an excellent job of reading it, including his quite accurate impersonations of Picard and Worf. Great stuff!!

As gripping as the tv episode!

I remember sitting down to watch the final Next Generation episode back in 1994. Listening to the audiobook brought back good memories.

Jonathan Frakes' reading is spot on!

Great Audible adaptation of the very last ST:TNG

Great Audible adaptation of the very last episode of Star Trek:The Next Generation.

Narrated by Jonathan Frakes (Commander Will Riker) this Audible production should be enjoyed by every Trekkie, at least those who liked The Next Generation, which should be almost all of them as TNG is often voted the best version of Star Trek. The double episode that this was adapted from was, as I said above, the very last episode before they went off to Movies, starting with Generations. Here, Captain Jean-Luc Picard startles the officers of the Enterprise by claiming he is suddenly travelling through different time periods: the past, the present and the future and he needs their help to restore reality.

Jonathan Frakes reads well, though he does struggle with the odd language accent. In particular, his Irish for the Transporter Chief, Chief Miles O'Brien, leaves a lot to be desired, but that is a very mild criticism.

I hope Audible adapt some more of the popular Star Trek episodes, especially from the Original Series and The Next Generation. I didn't really like ¹Voyager' or 'Deep Space Nine' or the more recent 'Discovery'.

It would be fun to hear episodes this way.
