Ponzi Supernova is an original audio series that profiles Bernie Madoff, the Wall Street financier sent to prison for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history. The series, hosted by journalist Steve Fishman, includes hours of unheard conversations with Madoff behind bars, as well as interviews with law enforcement and the victims.
In a review, Lulu Miller, of NPR's Invisibila, wrote: "At times alluring, at times disgusting, it's the push and pull that makes the magic of this series. You experience nonconsensual bouts of empathy for Bernie, and moments later find yourself repulsed by his seeming lack of remorse for his victims, not just their financial ruin, but even their deaths. This is a needed listen for anyone curious about what actually went down, and anyone hopeful of sparing ourselves from another implosion in the future."

It was excellent ,the story , reading , listened right to the very end without stopping .
"Missing a lot...but still"
Hearing madoff's voice is interesting and some of the people who knew what he was doing are heard as well, demonstrating shocking regulatory failure. However there is a gushing by the narrator that is rather sickening. Also the Boston banker who repeatedly tried to get the SEC to investigate madoff is nowhere in evidence--that guy is a really important player. This story needs more time than it gets here, sorta frustrating!
"wow the story is a deep one"
even though this is a short listen it covers a lot of ground and illuminates a little of the insanity behind the giant ponzi scheme
"Good story terrible soundtrack"
Interesting story. Cool to hear the recordings from the conversations with Madoff. The weird background music made sections of it impossible for me to listen to at times and I had to fast forward. The end space/drama music is unnecessary and really detracts from the overall experience. The writer is annoying and pretentious with too much time given to his own self-possession but the access to Madoff and the questions he poses are great. I would love to hear more free offerings like this from Audible. It makes me feel my subscription is worth it.
"glad when it was done"
I held on to the hope that the story would improve or that some knowledge or insight would be shared but it never happened.
"things that make you go hmm?"
kudos. excellent investigative journalism. makes you better understand that there is more to the story.
"wow so shocking"
wow so shocking it's unbelievably well put together the interviews really dude depict Bernie Madoff as a complete psychopath
"Fascinating and enraging"
Amazing tale of deceit on so many levels. Makes me want to know what safeguards are in place to prevent this from happening again.
Interesting story...anyone into finance should listen. Very disturbing the way the house of cards was built.
I love this story. I wish there are more of this out there! It was so good I didn't want it to snd
