John Gordon Sinclair stars as Scotland's most celebrated doctor in six more BBC Radio dramatisations. Dr Finlay is back with his black bag, ready to remedy all manner of ailments suffered by his patients in the Scottish Highland town of Levenford.
In "The Catch", Finlay moons over Nurse Angus while Dr Cameron gets two arch enemies to look after each other. Scarlet fever hits Levenford in "The Fever" and Finlay decides to do a little investigative work - with disastrous results. In "Miracle by Lestrange", Finlay and Cameron find themselves out of favour as alternative medicine takes over the town, and in "Birth and Death" a baby manages to teach the two doctors a lesson in humility. A fish bone promises Finlay a fast fortune in "The Golden Fishbone", and finally, in "The Match", Finlay plays a dangerous game when flirting with man-eater Georgina McNab. But will his plan to make Nurse Angus jealous pay off?

I L❤️ve My Audio Books
Out of my 902 audiobooks in my collection, Dr Finlay is in the top 20 of Comedy Full Casts. My husband and I love listening to Finlays sagas as he lives from day to day bull dozing his ways into the lives of the villagers who are ignorant and old fashioned in their small minded ways. He nearly always triumphs in an odd way.
The next Dr Finlay series 2. Fabulous ! Come on Audible.uk Please publish more of Our Beloved DR FINLAY ! :) Thank you. Series 2 is just as funny and entertaining as series 1. But we need and want a series 3, 4, 5, 6. You publish them, I will buy them :)
Yes I have the full collection of David Ashtons "Mcklevy" the Victorian Policeman acted by my friend actor Brian Cox. He gives the perfect account of the rough detective. The David Ashton humour shines through but this is a police show with murder and violence at its core in the City of Victorian Edinburgh and as far away from Dr Finlay and his ignorant villagers you can get.
I listened to Dr Finlay series 1 and 2 in one go just the other week when I was recovering from a major operation and was bedridden. These were two perfect days :)
Please make more of the Dr Finlay Shows. These are so full of inocent fun with quite naughty but subtle humour for all the family. I was astonished to discover the actor who was "Gergory in the film Gregory Girl" plays Dr Finlay. He is superb in the part and comes across a robust fun feely type of character far from the wet Gregory.
