Run by the forbidding divorcée Carolyn Knapp-Shappey (an unfortunate marriage, namewise, but in Carolyn's opinion, marginally better than Carolyn Shappey-Knapp), her two pilots are the smooth, experienced, and almost-certainly-fired-by-a-big-airline-for-all-around naughtiness Douglas, and struggling, almost competent Martin. All-round help is provided by Carolyn's near-idiot son, Arthur.

This shows that series 1 was not a fluke. This is even better. The games the crew play to stave off boredom during flights are truly inventive and are really funny signs of how tedious life can be. If you haven't heard this or series 1 yet what are you doing? Buy this now, download it immediately and listen to it over and over again to catch all the comedic nuances. Like I said of series 1, you will not be disappointed.
Cabin Pressure is fabulous. John Finnemore should be locked in a room and made to write Series 3, 4 and 5.
Deep Trouble is another one of his outstanding comedies.
They lighten my dark days.
Cabin Pressure is a real gem - very clever, beautifully written, wonderful characterizations, superbly voiced by a top class cast and most of all very, very funny. I have lost track of how many times I've listened to these two series, but it has never become jaded - love it every time.
I was lucky enough to catch most of the Cabin Pressure series on the radio and was delighted to find them on audible. The comedy is gentle, with perfect timing and trying to work out Douglas's plots is great fun.It is perfectly written and cast.
Tip top comedy. Each episode is perfectly crafted; brilliant acting and hysterically funny. Everyone in our family has a different favourite character. We've listened to this series again and again.
I haven't read the print version, but I can assure you the audio is VERY funny.
None, it is in a league of its own.
All the characters are played by different people and their voices convey their characters beautifully.
Yes, yes, yes. Although I don't have time to do that, this is an audio that I could easily listen to time and time again in one sitting.
Cabin Pressure is an absolute gem of comedy. I had not heard of the author until I joined audio, but I am now a big fan of Cabin Pressure and will try some of John's other work.
A good book is like a woman. You are interested by the cover and by the time you have read the first chapter you're hooked.
It is good to hear performers doing work that they would normally turn down especially the likes of Roger, Benediction, Stephanie and John. Well done to them all.
Cabin Pressure is the best new UK comedy series I've found on Audible. Stephanie Cole and Roger Allam are both fantastic, and the other players are fine as well. The writing is crisp and fun, as well as intelligent and largely free of coarseness. Any listener with a sense of humor will enjoy this download. Don't forget to get series 1 as well. You will be charmed, I promise you!
"MJN Air, I love you"
The second series is as strong as the first. I love the second episode and the revelation about Martin. He is portrayed so fantastically by Benedict Cumberbatch. He could easily be a ridiculous and unsympathetic laughingstock but as voiced by Cumberbatch, his yearnings and frustrations are as real as his shortcomings and I just want to give him a hug! The Johannesburg and Kuala Lumpur episodes are both classics as well.
"In a word ... brilliant"
Buy this audiobook. Buy it now. Buy it fast. You'll laugh until you're sore in the stomach listening to the adventures of MJN air, Britain's least competent but most endearing airline. This is British radio humour at its very best, and it has Benedict Cumberbatch in the cast (as Captain Martin Crieff)! The entire series is excellent - there's not a dud episode among them. I cannot wait for more episodes so come, and have listened to these ones many times and they just keep staying funny. This is a future classic, destined for the comedy hall of fame.
"Can't stop laughing"
This is one of the best radio plays I've ever listened to.
I only planned to listen to each individual episode at a time, but ended up listening to the entire series.
"Made me laugh so hard I couldn't walk!"
Oh, it's hard to pick just one thing - the clever, hysterically funny writing, the performances or the way it changes the way you look at everyday life?
There were many stories. And they were all funny and witty and clever. I love that!
Each narrator provided depth and nuances that broadened the characters and made them into people rather than just caricatures. The comic delivery had me staggering around the park laughing seemingly to myself on my daily walk as I listened.
"Arthur says 'it's brilliant'"
I am so jealous of the UK for getting new episodes first.
I already have! I have recommended this to a bunch of friends most of them love it, a few aren't crazy about it but still acknowledge it's funniness.
um Martin. His preeminence to failure despite his efforts creates great conflict.
Arthur- such a well done character
when it made me laugh....which was all the time
You Won't Regret Getting This!
"Just as BRILLIANT as series 1"
Nothing was lost in terms of quality in series 2. This is an hilarious show with truly excellent characters and simple, but funny plot lines that are character driven. I highly recommend. You will laugh.
"Be prepared to drop a little coin"
I bought the fourth series on a deal of the day special, and got hooked five minutes into it. An all together awesome series.
My cousin suggested this, my mother bought it for me as a gift, and I sincerely loved every moment of it. I hope there is/will be more!
Loving the characters! Stoic mechanical Sherlock as an anal wimpy airplane captain is too funny!
