Wynn Jeffries has wanderlust. Unfortunately, her life stalled somewhere between graduating from college and slinging drinks at the local dive bar. Stuck in a one-room apartment with no career, no boyfriend, no...life, she dreams of something more. Something amazing. Something like Oliver Reeves, her high school crush, who's back in town and reminding Wynn of the way she used to be.
When a forgotten news clipping falls out of a book belonging to Wynn's grandmother, a well-kept family secret is finally revealed. Is Wynn's gypsy spirit the result of an overactive imagination, or did she inherit it from a woman so determined to live a big life, she gave up everything to have it?
Together, Wynn and Oliver attempt to put together the missing pieces of her family's past and unravel the mystery behind her great-grandmother's disappearance. But after so much time succumbing to fear and regret, can Wynn ditch her safe, routine life for the chance at an extraordinary future?

"In my top ten list of favorite books"
I Want to listen to it all over again from the beginning. Loved the character development and storyline.
"Amazing Narrator. Moving Story!"
This story wrapped around my heart and squeezed. I felt it was written for me.
"Couldn't stop listening!"
The story itself is beautiful, I never thought I could enjoy an audio book as much as I did. Excellent reading paired with a beautiful story and I'm sad that it has come to an end.
The message in the story truly spoke volumes to me personally about living MY life vs trying to shape my life to only please others.
"You need to hear this story"
Words cannot even describe how amazing this story is. Be brave, take chances. Life is a risk for all of us. It is how we chose to live our lives that defines us, not necessarily what it's filled with.
Live, laugh, love, experience, cry, rage, Be brave. Sacrifice for others without losing yourself.
I absolutely LOVED the narrator of this book. She did an amazing job of bringing the story to life and giving it emotion. Just fantastic.
I read the book and it hit something in me. It made me think of my grandmother and the life she had. I bought the audio version the day I found out it was available. all I can say is it does not disappoint!! It takes you on a lovely journey of self discovery.
"She Wrote the Wrong Story"
The main characters, Wynn and Oliver, were kind of pathetic. She is a weak woman who needs a man--an old high school crush. Really? That it materialized in a lack-luster romance disappointed me. I really didn't like either of them.
The great-grandmother's story is where the intrigue lies. I loved her story and wanted more of the book to focus on her. The setting of prohibition was romantic and interesting. The Wynn/Oliver story interrupted and I wanted to rush through it to get to the better storyline.
"The Narrator Needs Cold Medicine"
Aside from this being a really cheesy book with really unlikable characters and the "love" between Wynn and Oliver giving me a headache from all of the eye rolling I did, the narrator had no business recording this. She has a bad cold and her voice changes back and forth between stuffed up to complete blockage and gets really nasally. It made the book feel sick and dirty. Listening to it with headphones made me feel like I had a head cold the whole time and aside from the ridiculous writing, I was thrilled to get this book over with.
loved it didn't want to turn it off made my commute fly by every day
I was pleasantly surprised at how deep this book was. Wynn was a great character and I wish there was a long epilogue.
