Summary

Perilously ill, Jasper Scriven spends his days roaming the wards of a derelict psychiatric hospital. Meanwhile his daughter Cleo is watched by Roland, a hulking, silent figure. These solitary characters are connected by an event that defies understanding, even as it continues to define them. In this brilliantly imagined and disturbing novel, James Scudamore explores the fallibility of memory and notions of madness.

Gave up 4 hours in with another 8 hours to go!

I rarely leave reviews but really struggled with this title. 4 hours in and I still had no idea what the story was actually about, with another 8 hours to listen to I gave up. I found it incredibly slow to develop and found Jonathan Keeble's narration to be dull and wholly uninteresting which probably didn't help. I certainly would not try another title by James Scudamore or another book narrated by Jonathan Keeble.
