The only thing that frightens shapeshifter Selene Rhodes more than the full moon is the idea of falling in love. Selene Rhodes has lived her whole life with a terrible secret: Not only can she take the form of any animal at will, but once a month the full moon transforms her into a fierce wolf-creature without a human conscience. Managing her condition means living by a strict routine, and more importantly, abstaining from intimate relationships with human beings. Selene is convinced that love and friendship can only bring her pain.
Forensic pathologist Eve Thomas is well acquainted with the pain of romantic love. Swearing off relationships after having her heart broken by a cheating ex, Eve throws herself into her work: catching murderers. When Selene comes to her aid after an attack by a masked man in Golden Gate Park, Eve is shocked by how powerfully she is drawn to her mysterious savior. Shaken by her own feelings for Eve, Selene is even more terrified to realize she isn't even close to being the scariest monster stalking San Francisco. There is someone out in the city who is killing for pleasure, and his next target is the one woman he thinks might be able to stop him: Eve.

Say something about yourself!
Its right next to the honor series. Its been a while i have enjoyed a book that was not written by Radclyffe. I loved every moment of this book, couldn't get enough.
I think it was when Eve brought cake to Selene's house to thank her for saving her from that psycho and they fell into bed over and over again.
I swear Ms. Wilde sounds really like Abby Craden I dont know why. I absolutely love Abby and I enjoyed Ms. Wilde's performance as well.
Yes, when Eve was the house when the call girl arrived and Selene couldn't tell her what was really going on. I think I cried when they both were crying knowing how much it hurt Selene, not telling the truth and how much it hurt Eve not knowing the truth,
I was really hoping this book had a follow up or better yet a few more sequels to this story. The story has ended and now I dont have anything else to listen...oh well.
Desperate for another chapter or sequel.
Narration superb and storyline fantasy fiction that keeps you gripped to the last word.
If you like supernatural, this ticks the boxes
Loved every minute of it
I really enjoyed this book at me entertained. I love the story about starcrossed lovers
I loved it and wish that they would do all of Meghan O'Brien's books, with Alexandria Wilde as narrator. The story is erotic and different. I loved the characters and story line.
Eve. She was so open-minded. Her acceptance of Seline's changing was so refreshing. Laughed and cried, My favorite story line.
Yes and this one is just as good!
I wouldn't it's the perfect title...
Please try to get Alexandria Wilde to do Battle Scar by Meghan O'Brien and the others not on audio yet...
"Alexandria Wilde makes this story interesting."
The story it's self is a par-normal mystery. However, Selene one of the heroines (who is a shape shifter, for around 30 years) I find it hard to believe she has no clue nor did she ever try to find anyone else like herself since she's computer savvy and highly intelligent. (that whole premise is just screwy) Eve who is the love interest, and a medical examiner for the city is being stalked by a nut job serial killer. Selene in wolf form stops his attack on Eve. Then she goes behind a tree and turns back into her human form and helps Eve. They form an instant attraction. Alexandria Wilde's narration made this story interesting. Without her various voices for each character I don't thing I could have listened to the whole story.
If you enjoy lesbian, paranormal mystery, with excellent narration then yes it may be worth it for you to listen.
I love Alexandria Wilde and her narration's I've listened to many of her narrations in erotica, and novels, she has a wonderful voice and can do accents, and different genders, as well as express emotion, and passion. One of the best narrators for romance and erotica.
I wouldn't ........
I just found that with all of Selene's intelligence, and obvious capabilities and access to internet, that she never bothered to try to find others of her kind. Yes she was orphaned, and kicked out from her home but obviously she over came obstacles to get an education and earn a very good living. I can suspend my imagination on a lot of things but some how this part of the story bothered me. Again if it were not for Alexandria Wilde, this story would never have gotten me to the end. I'm not sure if a squeal is planned but at least we have the whole shape shifter thing out in the open......So maybe Selene will help Eve with her forensic work in the future. Who knows. As long as Alexandria Wilde Narrates I'd give it a try.
Story was well written, exciting from start to finish, can't wait till next book
Highly recommend this book
Yes, it is a good story if you like the supernatural, and I love it, so do other friends.
When she changed.
Celine, because she would be the most interesting person I ever met.
I would love to see a series made out of this.
Loved the story & romance. Kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to happens next!
I enjoyed the story and the narrator was amazing.
Her voice was so amazing and made the book feel so much more real for me.
"I'd give 10 stars if I could"
This is a wonderful, unique story with great narration. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.
The SUPER HAWT sexy times between Selene and Eve!! That feedback loop is something else... *Shivers*
Besides the wicked hot sex??? I liked the mystery behind Selene's origins. It almost makes me wish this was a miniseries centered on Selene. Anyone who's read my reviews for other PNRs knows I'm not a fan of series focused on a single person/couple AT ALL. However, I could totally take this as a trilogy, hopefully find out Selene's history along the way and how she came to be. I would definitely love for her to find some others like her.
She did an outstanding job narrating this story. She is the second female narrator I can say I genuinely loved listening to. I think the author would be hard pressed to find someone to give a better performance of this story. She didn't just read through it. She acted out the emotions with her words. I don't know where she is originally from-I detected a hint of an accent in her narrator's voice (not only the much stronger one in Selene's). No matter. I think she was the PERFECT reader for this story.
Just had me wishing there were more SEXY PNR, Fantasy, Sci-fi novels out there featuring women who love other women.
Seriously though, can we get a sequel?? Come on MO, doesn't Selene have like a hot, adventurous cousin from Italy, Portugal, Spain out there searching for her long lost relative? Maybe she could fall for Jac? (Who I kind of liked then hated then liked again by the end.) Just saying.
"Loved it but wish there was more"
Loved the book but feel like it ended a bit unfinished. I was hopeful there was a sequel or series that continues the story but there doesn't seem to be one. Left with a bunch of questions about what happened next. The potential for further books about Selene, Eve and Jac and what happens now that Selena's secret is known by others is great, sorry to see that the author hasn't expanded on the story.
