Twenty-two-year-old Ivy Morgan isn't your average college student. She, and others like her, know that humans aren't the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun... and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. Four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she'd sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.
Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He's six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers that are stalking the streets. As Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes that she's not the only one who's carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. She is no longer sure which is more dangerous to her - the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

Loved the premise of guardians of gates to the land of the Fae and that the order hunted the ones trapped here . It is also a love story of Ivy and Ren but not mushy (quite naughty and in parts sexy)
Ivy lives with Tink a brownie who she keeps a secret as the order would kill him and they have a lovely friendship even if he does have wierd cravings for dolls and sugar lol...
I would highly recommend it, it's a good listen the narrator was very easy on the ears and I can't wait for the second book Torn to be released hopefully by the end of this year fingers x'd
Loved the characters, Tink is so funny and I can't wait for the next book. Jennifer writes with such imagination you can't help but picture the events of the story in your head. Her characters touch your heart every time, but they are not soft or sappy. It's a great audiobook and the narrator did a fantastic job. I greatly recommend it!
"Had me from the start!!!"
If you love New Orleans and Fae Fantasy and Hot Hunters you will love this story!
The entire book is completely captivating. I absolutely fell in love with every single character especially tink. The entire premise is original and distinguished.
I would compare this series to the Karen Marie Moning Iced Series. Both author's are very talented and both books are centered around the Fae with strong female characters and hottie male characters.
Hearing the voices is especially nice. You really get a better mental picture of who you are reading about.
"Predictable but good"
I enjoyed listening to this book. The narrator was excellent. There is no new mythology in this book about the fay but it kept me riveted nonetheless. It was a bit predictable as well. But on the whole a good book. Will definitely read the next part of this story.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! JENNIFER ARMENTROUT NEVER EVER DISAPPOINTS!! I KNOW SOME AUTHORS OF SERIES THAT THE FIRST 1 IS EPIC & THE REST ARE JUST OK BUT NOT JENNIFER....EVERY STORY IS UNIQUE BUT YOU CAN ALSO TELL HER BOOKS APART FROM OTHERS!! I TRULY LOVE HER!!
"So, so good!"
I fell into this book right from the start. I wanted to listen to Wicked all the time. I really liked Ivy, she was brave and kicked butt where ever she went. She had a hard time letting people in, it was hard to connect to her...at times. I also loved Ren. He was a perfect match for Ivy and made the story exceptionally swoon worthy. But I think the story stealer was Tink. He had me cracking up so many times.
I wish it wouldn't have taken me so long to read this book. Everything by Armentrout is amazing, so I should be surprised how much this paranormal romance rocked. I really hope to read/listen to Torn, book two soon, as it recently released.
"If you are bored and waiting for books to come out...then this will tide you over."
Wanting something from pnr I chose this book. I feel like I have damn near read everything out there. The narrator didn't do a bad job but for some reason I felt she read slow. Even set at my normal listen 1.5 speed. I switch to 2 and that was better. Could have been that the story was slow and I needed it to speed up.
The premise for the book had such potential. Immediately it's pretty obvious who is what. BUT there were times I thought I knew what was going to happen and it didn't.
LOVED!!! Tink the Brownie. He is hilariously funny.
Ren is just so blahhhhh to me.
I wanted the Feye Prince to take her. And show her who she is and who she's meant to be. To woo her and make her feel conflicted.
I truly hope this is how the next book is...I would love to see "her" meet her family and embrace the Feye.
That's just me. I am sure there are a million #teamren out there.
I didn't love or hate this book. It filled a space while I wait for a few release dates.
I am buying the next. Hoping it's amazing!!
I wished the
This performance was amazing and the voices she did. The story of Wicked is fantastic, funny and emotional.
"Loved this book"
Loved this book and the characters. I also really liked the narrator she did a great job! I will be recommending this book.
"AWESOME NEW SERIES!"
I really enjoyed this first book. A very interesting twist from the Fae stories created that I have read so far Karen Moning & Lexi Blake Thief series being my other favs. I found word Torn should be coming out late fall........that's now?!?
"Naughty talk was ridiculous."
The overall story was pretty good.
Eh...the narration was okay, but thought some of her interpretations, especially Ren's dialogue, were a bit off.
The scenes where Ivy and Ren were intimate, and most of Ren's dialogue made me want to both, stab my eardrums, and punch Ren in the throat. Yes, it was that ridiculous. Other than that, the story was solid. I really enjoyed it despite the poorly worded naughty & sweet talk. It would be a 5 star review otherwise.
