Forced to flee Napoleon's rampaging army on the continent, orphaned Alana Farmer and her eccentric guardian make a new home for themselves in London. There, Alana enjoys every privilege a daughter of the nobility could hope for, plus an education fit for a queen. Now, on the eve of her debut into London Society, she learns the shocking secret of her birthright. Can it be true? Is she really the lost princess of the European kingdom of Lubinia? Persuaded by her guardian to return to their homeland to quell a bloody revolt, Alana finds herself in an isolated, mountainous country whose customs strike her as medieval!
With controversy and intrigue brewing around the beautiful newcomer, Christoph Becker, the captain of the palace guards, arrests Alana on suspicion that she is either a wily imposter or a seductive spy working for the shadowy figures determined to depose the king. No stranger himself to seduction, Christoph uses every means at his disposal to draw the truth from his alluring prisoner, even if he must lay his own life on the line to protect her from harm. Now, as a fiery passion flares between Alana and the man who has wrongly imprisoned her, the fate of a nation rests in their hands and on their hearts.
In each of her dazzling best sellers, Johanna Lindsey's "mastery of historical romance" (Entertainment Weekly) shines stronger than ever!

Ok I only got 2 hours sleep, because I couldn't stop listening!! I kept doing the famous "ok just ONE more chapter" and was just hooked until the end...brilliant in story written and in narrator. Used my last credit on this as a chance and was worth every penny. Am off to find some more Johanna Lindsey, just hope she uses Rosalyn Landor on her other books....a winning team!
"Well Passion did rule"
This is a book that moves fast and has a good story line. Great book for a rainy day. Narration was great.
Johanna Lindsey has written another wonderful story with some twists and turns. Rosalyn Landor as always is excellent in telling of the story. I got caught up in the story wanting it to continue. If you enjoy Ms. Lindsey's Mallory stories you will enjoy this book.
"Unexpected twists and turns."
Really liked the book. Plot twists and turns. A bit saucy for younger readers. Good reader used reasonable accent.
Enjoyable and entertaining story. Kept me interested with it's intrigue, secrets, and light humor. I enjoy listening to these stories to get a feel for history and there customs. If you enjoy listening to these types of stories, then you will enjoy this one. I did.
"Whn passion Rules"
I loved this book, that really goes for most all of Johanna Lindsay books, this one I could not put it down, matter of fact I lost sleep staying up to late to listen to this book.
"A fairytale for adults..."
This story had all the elements of a fairytale: a princess, a plot to kill her, a knight that comes to her rescue and a Happily Ever After. Add lots of sexual innuendo and passionate lovemaking and you have a fairytale for adults. It was a really good book full of romance and adventure.
The narration was excellent as all works by Rosalyn Landor are. This is definitely worth a credit if you enjoy historical romances.
"Out of the Ordinary"
This book is something different. I love historical romance but some of them can be formulaic which results in utter boredom. This book is original. It starts in England but then quickly moves to Lubania which is a real part of Poland. There is suspense, surprises and of course, a happy, ever after. Rosalyn Landor is one of my favorite narrators which adds to the listening pleasure.
"Johanna Lindsey never disappoints!"

"Good Book Worth The Credit"
Enjoyable and entertaining story. Kept me interested with it's intrigue, secrets, and light humor. I enjoy listening to these stories to get a feel for history and there customs.
Rosalyn Landor is my favourite narrator and she did another outstanding job with this book.
"A very pleasant surprise!"
I was so pleasantly surprised that I had to write this review as soon as I finished the book. Why? Because for the first time I didn't find myself angry at, or wanting to slap the leading lady! This is the first and only book were I didn't have to make it pass unnecessary misunderstandings between our hero and his lady love. The problems they face in getting together was perfectly acceptable, they fit! I would have liked more interactions after the wedding, but even the short conclusion is exceptable! Overall it was a decent story. As always Rosalyn Landor gives a wonderful performance!
