From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author, J. Daniels.
The third book in the Alabama Summer series.
Author's note: When I Fall can be enjoyed as a standalone audiobook.
For the past nine years, I've kept my heart as far away from my dick as possible.
Those two can't be anywhere near each other. They don't play nice, and one of them undoubtedly winds up getting hurt.
Not my dick. My dick is good.
The women I take home know exactly what they're getting from me - sex. Nothing more. At least, that's what's supposed to happen. The sweet brunette from Kentucky I set my sights on tonight shouldn't have been any different. I had her right where I wanted her. Where I needed her. But when my past comes walking into McGill's pub, the woman in my arms decides to take things to a whole new level, putting me into a situation I never saw coming.
My heart is about to get f--ked. My dick can sit this one out.
Warning: This book is recommended for listeners over the age of 18 due to strong language and explicit sexual content.

This love story was sweet, laugh out loud funny, and thankfully not over done. Reed hides his deep pain and Beth's one impulsive action creates a wonderful story. The narration was excellent.
""A hero to fall in love with & a heroine to adore""
There were so many funny one liners in this book that a few times I got jolted out of the book cocoon with a loud laughter. An enjoyable read. Not one to entangle you in it and drag you under but a light read. A heroine that goes after what she wants and a hero who is so irresistibly hot and heartbroken that he never wants to get caught and let go of his bachelor days and yet can't avoid this love. So purchase if you like a light and uncomplicated book that will entertain you but not own you.
"THEY JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER.... SO NEXT PLEASE"
Reed is handsome, charismatic, sexy and a total Manwhore who upfront offers a 'one night only' deal to women but he thinks he's got a good reason.... a heart that's been broken by his cheating girlfriend who he hasn't seen for nine years. So he doesn't do relationships, not ever, well not until his ex confidently strides into the Bar to gloat and the beautiful woman he was just chatting-up comes to his rescue. By giving him a kiss that leaves him speechless and then introduces herself as his girlfriend.... which starts off a pretence and a chain of events that'll change both their lives.
Beth didn't have a good childhood and was left homeless when her junkie Mother died which forced her to make a stupid mistake in order to get a roof over her head. But when she finds out she has an Aunt and Uncle who want her she never intends to look back..... but someone should have told her to never say never. She's sitting enjoying a drink in her loving Aunt and Uncle's Bar when a handsome surfer type guy, with a body to die for, starts flirting with her but things go from hot to cold when he stiffens (and not in a good way!) when a leggy bitchy blonde walks over to their table. Beth puts two and two together and knows, from his reaction, that this is his ex so she decides to help him out by kissing him passionately..... but the kiss leaves her breathless and panting for more - much much more.
Because of Beth's 'girlfriend' declaration Reed is committed to go to his ex's Engagement party with Beth who has blown his mind with their sizzling chemistry and lust filled thoughts invade his mind until they take their relationship to the next level. But, despite their instant connection, Reed is unwilling to make it more than friends and sex.... until he loses his mind and his heart breaks when Beth suddenly walks away.
This series just keeps on getting better and better, it's got a full cast of loveable characters who are made up of close friends and relatives (mainly from books 1 and 2), there's a 'mixed messages' storyline with fun, sex, a dirty talking Hero, passion and angst. Mia, Ben, Luke, Tessa and, of course, the sweet little Nolan all play a major part in the story and there's a tense and fraught with heartache chapter which brings out the best and worst in some of the characters. A secondary love interest who's sniffing round Beth leads to confusion and jealousy but the (plot's) climax comes when a frantic Reed, Luke and Ben go in search of the heartbroken Beth.
Worth a credit? Beth and Reed's dual POV love story is amusing, entertaining and totally enjoyable and is the best in the series so far. It could be a stand-alone listen and is narrated really well. Yes, like so many romance books, there are a few parts that would be totally unrealistic in the real world..... but, IMO, that's escapism at it's best which makes them a creditworthy auto download for me.
"My Favorite of the 3"
I wasn't sure about this book because I didn't really like Reese in the other books. But I wanted to listen to this one and wow was I glad I bought this book.
I think it might actually be my favorite out of the 3 so far :)
I loved the personalities of the characters. The hilarious sense of humor and passionnant love.
Stella Bloom sounds like the sweetest woman. She did excellent interpreting the sweetness of the character of Beth. Great job!
This has to be the hottest book in the series! Reed finally gets his story, and he discovers that having a relationship doesn't makr him weak after all. Beth has been so lost without having a family since her mother died, then she discovers she has an aunt in Alabama. Beth doesn't expect to find love as well. This is a love story that takes you through on discovering each other and getting over their own issues when it comes to being in a relationship. We also get to revisit Ben, Mia, Tessa, and Luke with a few surprises there as well. Warning this book is extremely steamy, so be prepared 😉
This is a great story but the language could be a little more sophisticated - pretty much gutter talk
"Filthy talking REID is a Win!"
Love how they got off on such dirty talking!!! Reid is my favourite for sure!!!
"Good story but nasty language!"
This book had a good story line and well developed characters. The big problem is that at least 20% of the vocabulary is the "F" word and there's too much sex. The writer is pretty good so I don't understand the necessity of either.
"Fantastic narration and a 5 star read!"
These Alabama Summer men are a force to be reckoned with!!!
I freaking love all the books in this series and this one is another hit!!
Reed Tennison, Holy hell! There wasn't one thing I didn't like about this hot man! Maybe it's the fact that he had his heart crushed by a woman that didn't deserve him in the first place. Maybe it's because he uses phrases like "I just want to eat and fuck all day"! Or maybe it's the fact that he's one kinky loving man, but it's his heart that will truly consume you!
Beth Davis, a young woman who's been through quite a bit in her life, draws Reed's attention at first sight. She's sweet, funny, has a heart of gold and Reed doesn't stand a chance! (Or in Ben's words, "he's so fucked" lol) Their love story is beautiful and full of surprises!
These group of friends has grown on me so much that I feel a part of their group! I can't wait to read more from this series! I love the humor, the beauty, the ugly parts, and everything about this series!!
