Lethally charming Simon Blair, Marquess of Lisburne, has reluctantly returned to London for one reason only: a family obligation. Still, he might make time for the seduction of a certain redheaded dressmaker - but Leonie Noirot hasn't time for him. She's obsessed with transforming his cousin, the dowdy Lady Gladys, into a swan. Leonie's skills can coax curves - and profits - from thin air, but his criminally handsome lordship is too busy trying to seduce her to appreciate her genius. He badly needs to learn a lesson, and the wager she provokes ought to teach him, once and for all. A great plan, in theory, but Lisburne has become a serious distraction, and Leonie's usual logic is in danger of slipping away as easily as a silk chemise. Could the Season's greatest transformation be her own? Contains mature themes.

"The last sister meets her match"
This book was the my least favorite of this series but still an enjoyable listen. Kate Reading provides excellent narration.
Our couple is well matched. The storyline seemed a bit more of a formula for this book after listening to the first two books.
Glad that the next book will focus on Clara who we met in the first book. I am looking forward to it and have it preordered.
"Another good one"
This third book in The Dressmakers series is a good story. I enjoy the sisters and the supporting cast in these books. Leonie and Lisburne are fun together but I didn't feel the spark between them as I did with her sisters in the previous books. But the supporting players are great. I've always liked Clara and now add Grace and Swanton. Great fun. I understand there's a longer wait than usual for the next book but I'll be ready. This author and Kate Reading, the reader of the audiobook, are two of my favorites.
"This series is wonderful."
Love this series. The characters are interesting and humorous. The reference to art and the classics are as ingenious as the descriptions of the dresses from Maison Noirot. This reader is the best I have ever experienced and I will listen to everything she reads. The depiction of the Quality vs the rest of the world are so good that I feel like I am there. Thank you for such delicious listening.
"A trilogy worth a 2nd listen!"
Though to me this was the weakest of the trilogy, it was still a fun listen with a strong female lead and lovestruck male. Of course the narration was top notch!
Being the third book in this "trilogy" I knew that it would not let me down. All characters storylines etc... worked very well . A truly enjoyable listen:
NARRATOR : Kate Reading delivers a stellar performance you know each character, who's speaking, and she does a remarkable job of portraying both male and female voices.
CREDITWORTHY? In my opinion a resounding yes!
HEAT FACTOR: Steammmmy!
"Not to the superior standards of book's 1 & 2"
This is book # 3 of Ms. Chase's "Dressmaker" series. The first installment, "Silk is for Seduction", is, in my humble opinion, an excellent Victorian era romance. After a slow start, the second volume, "Scandal Wears Satin", achieved the same high level of adventure, romance, and mystery. This third (and hopefully last) "Dressmaker" tale failed to deliver on two fronts. The fast paced action and adventure of book # 1 and second half of Book # 2 are replaced by a more prodding, predictable plot with several slow sections. And, its 2 romances are much less compelling than those in the first 2 volumes. As usual, Ms. Reading performed the narration well.
"Nice ending to a series"
I enjoyed this book. I did feel like the story and relationship development was not as well done as the other books. I wasn't as invested with this sisters relationship, but would say it was a nice wrap up to the series. I hated the epilogue ..... I mean no spoilers but it wasn't what I wanted in an epilogue!
"Great story and narration"
A perfect end to the trilogy of the dressmakers.... I wish there were more stories like these with fashion, flair and elegance laced with so much romance!
I would. I found myself laughing out loud at points. I seriously enjoyed this story after having read/listened to the other two books.
I enjoy Kate Reading's voice and characterizations. She is a true professional. She did particularly well with this series. Her French is very good.
"It was OK"
I loved the first two books but Vixen in velvet fell flat for me compared to the first two. May be i had too much expectation for this book .
She is brilliant.
