Prodigal son Lucas Dempsey reluctantly returns home to Anchor Island. Following his father's heart attack, the whole Dempsey clan has to step up to keep the family restaurant afloat. For Lucas this means putting family first and his quest to make partner at his high-powered law firm on hold.
Tough-as-nails boat mechanic Sid Navarro is happy to trade her tools for an apron to help the Dempseys in their time of need - until she realizes she'll be spending her days alongside Lucas, the man she's loved from afar since high school. Playful verbal sparring leads to a smoldering but temporary summer fling that has them both falling hard within weeks.
When the time comes for Lucas to return to his life in the big city, a place where Sid would never fit in, the lovers face a challenge neither saw coming. Do they ignore their feelings and walk away, or sacrifice their dreams to follow their hearts?
Up to the Challenge is a sexy, fast-paced, romantic story of family, island life, and finding love in unexpected places.

"this book was better that the first in this series"
This book developed the characters and had better dialog than the first. I almost didn't read it because the first was so awful. Now I can't wait to start book three.
I love to read a good romance novel. Yes, it's predictable, but I don't care. It's sweet. It's the second in the series. Once I finished the first one, I knew I had to continue the story of these people's lives. Will definitely read the next two.
Story was decent, but somewhat predictable. The narration took some getting used to, especially for Sid's voice, but it made it easy to stay enticed into the story
Loved it. It is mesmerizing and one of those stories you can't put down....Excellent Overall.♡
"Sorry that this is over!"
This writer really has a fun way with words. I have listend to this on audio tapes.. I think this is my third one and I have now ordered the others as well. I like how she develops her characters, her descriptions of the sex scenes is not trite.., somehow she always finds new adjectives and really don't know how she does that!
This story brings you through all ranges of emotions and at one point I laughed out loud good job!
This book better than the first one and it's like romantic comedy. Like the banter between character. Worth the time to listen
