I listened to this audio book whilst on holiday, lying on the beach. A good choice for a holiday 'read' and an enjoyable story despite being pretty predictable.
The narrator had a very convincing Italian accent, but throughout the rest of the narrative her voice was clipped and rather expressionless & she seemed to cut the sentences up into shorter phrases which didn't flow naturally. For me this spoiled my enjoyment of what should have been an atmospheric holiday 'read'.
If you have even a slightly sentimental personality, this is a story you must hear.
I think Nicky Pellegrino has written a wonderful story, and the narration by Jane McDowell makes it come alive, you see yourself there in every scene and feel for every character,Thankyou.
