Jessica Harper is the epitome of perfection. She's a good daughter, makes excellent grades, and always strays on the safe side of life. The last thing she thought would ever happen was falling in love with her best friend's brother. But sometimes fate just has a way of bringing two people together. Wide receiver for the University of Arizona, Gabe Garcia seems to have it all. When his feelings for Jessica come to surface, Gabe will give up everything to be with her. But what happens when a tragedy abruptly changes the course of your life? For Jessica and Gabe, everything they thought they knew about each other will be questioned. Sometimes, there are scars in life that are cut too deep to completely heal. Will their love prove to be unbreakable, or will it shatter and prove fate is just another lie?

Beautiful story and awesome narration!
First off I want to say that I am disappointed with the bad reviews I saw on this. DON'T listen to those. It's like they didn't hear the story.
Wonderful characters in this story! A tragic occurrence happens and I can empathize with the heroine and her choice. Can't wait to read next in series!
85% of the book wasn't about Gabe and jeses love story. it was more about her and Landon friendship... While I get the reason for most of the book being about her finding herself and getting back to Gabe it was really irritating for the majority of the story to be about Landon
"Depressing ..far too much anguish"
Jess was far too depressing for me. I get the event that happened will be very traumatic..but come on she has to move away to get help and continue to wallow in self-pity. i began to disconnect from the herione. I get Gabe trying to reach out to her but enough is enough.. He was strong & hopeful character that she just didnt deserve.
Landon was patient with her & a good friend that helped her reconnect with Gabe. There wasn't enough happiness just far too much sadness.
if you want a sad tear jerker have at it..but it wasn't for me!
"Can't decide if I want to use a credit on book 2"
The true nature of a woman's response to a traumatic event
Jessica was a bit stressed out consistently which leaves the various emotions a bit flat in delivery by the narrator
More sadness in this one than any real joy
I enjoyed the book but struggling on whether to use a credit on the 2nd book in this series and not sure entirely why. .maybe Narain, maybe lack of enough passionate scenes lol
The depth of feelings that Gabe has for Jess. It was deep, sincere and true. Hard to get that from a young man these days.
Gabe's reaction to Jess forgetting to take her birth control pills. Cool, calm and collected. He was non judgmental.
I love both performances.
I don't like the fact that Jess took up with another man when she got to N Carolina. What was that?
"Too explicit, had to stop listening"
Just not my type of book. There should be a category for explicit content marked.
