Mary is one of the most revered women in history, but she was an ordinary woman striving to please God in the same way that women still do today. Listeners are sure to gain a new appreciation of the familiar story through Francine's signature style. A study on the biblical text is included for personal or group study.

This book brings to life an aspect of the birth of Christ that isn't discussed much - what Mary went through in a personal sense, her perspective.
The others by Francine Rivers on Rahab, Ruth, etc. Same great quality.
Her tone of voice and inflection brings energy and life to the story. Turns a biography into a much more real-life feel.
Mary was just as awesome as the other four books in the series! love them all!
Captivating. Francine Rivers does it again, bringing the bible to life. Very, very good. Made me love Jesus all the more!
Really enjoyed this book. Gave me new insight about Jesus and his family. Would read it again
"Did you not cry?"
I finished this recorded audiobook while driving and I weeped with tears of repentance. I praised Jesus for his mercy and compassion. Oh, how I believe that anyone who listens will give their lives to Christ. What a compelling story of the life of Jesus. Although a short read, the message was clear, excellent performance, moments of anger, frustration;!where inverted at the right moments in the book.
If you still do not believe Jesus is the messiah and the Son of God after this read, then I pray for your salvation.
This book was very good. VERY INSPIRING. It ranks high at the top :)
Mary's incredible grace and love throughout the book.
Jesus entrusting his mother's care into the hands of John. Wow, very powerful.
Jesus, by far. But, I loved Joseph too. His love as a husband in the face of so many doubters was more than admirable. God is so good. When he speaks a plan, it's done.
This was a very interesting book. Of all five of the "Lineage of Grace" series, I cannot really say this book was my favorite, though I loved it. My favorite was Bathsheba; but, Mary's grace and love was so inspiring to me and it blessed me, particularly when she told john at the end to not build a shrine in her honor but bury her someplace where people would not know. That was very powerful.
Those interested should read all five of the series to really capture it's great message and Francine River's incredible spirit. These were GREAT books indeed. Thank you Francine. I pray GOD I may meet you one day and shake your hand. :)
"Didn't know Mary Smoked"
I read the print version of this series several years ago and really enjoyed them. I thought it would be nice to listen to all of them again as audio books. I was sadly disappointed. These good books were ruined by the narration. Not sure who decided that a rough, voiced woman would be a good voice for these women of the Bible but it was a poor decision.
In this book - Unafraid - Rosenblat's voice made the young Mary sound like a 60 year old, 3 pack a day smoker. It was hard to think of the innocent, young virgin, with that voice. Even as Mary grew up, the voice was too rough & harsh. The only time it was appropriate was when Rosenblat was reading the words of Satan.
Rosenblat could be a good narrator for another title as her expression was good. Her enunciation was good and her pacing was good. But her timbre and tone were just so wrong for these books.
These are very good stories - you would be better off reading the print version and skip this recorded version.
"Mary's trials and Tribulations!"
No, it was the one I liked least in the series.
Ms. Rosenblat, you are terrtific.Thank you for sharing your voice with all of the listeners. Looking forward to hearing you again real soon!.
