Publisher's Summary

Russell Green is about to discover the importance of unconditional love.

At 32, Russell Green has it all: a loving family, a successful career and a beautiful house. But underneath his seemingly perfect life, cracks are beginning to appear...and no one is more surprised than Russ when the life he took for granted is turned upside down.

Finding himself single-handedly caring for his young daughter, London, whilst trying to launch his own business, the only thing Russ knows is that he must shelter London from the consequences of these changes.

Then a chance encounter with an old flame tempts him to take a chance on love again, and with the support of his family, Russ finally comes to understand the true nature of unconditional love.

"Lovely story and well read.....shame about the music"

I have enjoyed his story and the end was a real shock. But there have been a few occasions where they suddenly bust out some music over the words..... strange and kind of distracting. I see what is trying to be done but it's so random!! Almost takes away from the moment. Weird!

"Russell Green has it all: a loving family, a succe"
If you could sum up Two by Two in three words, what would they be?

Russell Green has it all: a loving family, a successful career and a beautiful house. But underneath his seemingly perfect world, cracks are beginning to appear . . . and no one is more surprised than Russ when the life he took for granted is turned upside down.

Finding himself single-handedly caring for his young daughter, while trying to launch his own business, the only thing Russ knows is that he must shelter his little girl from the consequences of these changes.

As Russ embarks on this daunting and unexpected new chapter of his life, a chance encounter will challenge him to find a happiness beyond anything he could ever have imagined

    "Rather twee and predictable..."

Well read but a rather thin plot which I kept wanting to surprise me, but unfortunately it didn't.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. So emotional & so well written. Couldn't stop listening. Great characters & story so well crafted.
Will definitely look for more books by this author. This was my first but will not be my last.
Don't know how I'll follow this book.

    "Nice story but ..."

I enjoyed the story but I found the narrator annoying when doing the voice of Vivian, it was very whiney but maybe that was to ensure you disliked the character. There was also extremely annoying music playing over the narration through various points in the book, I thought it was an error but it isn't

    "I couldn't stop listening"
Where does Two by Two rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Way up there - I have only just discovered Nicholas Sparks and I am already a fan....this story kept me so involved at times I forgot where I was.

What did you like best about this story?

The love that was shared throughout the story was real, not slushy and reminded me of how lucky I am in my life

Which scene did you most enjoy?

I would not like to give the story away so was near the end, it was a SAD chapter, I was driving to work and found myself in tears but it was so well written.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried a lot but in a good way...

    Any additional comments?

If you like audible books this is great, not too many characters that you find yourself having to rewind to listen to again but just enough that you end up feeling like part of the plot...FANTASTIC

it really is a story everyone could relate to. be ready to cry as it will get you in true nicholas Sparks style. as long as you can put up with the heavy American accent.

"It was beautiful. I shed a tear at some point."

It was a beautiful story. I love the portrayal of love between father and daughter. The narrator was also very good. I found I could recognise the voices of each character as he portrayed them.

    "Tissue needing read"
What made the experience of listening to Two by Two the most enjoyable?

It was a beautiful tale about Russell first becoming a father, then due to partially circumstancial separation with his wife, becomes a single dad. It's really tough on him, as it is for any single parent. He learns he can't rely on his family in some respects as much as he naievely hoped to constantly babysit his adorable girl while he works. He has a lot of hurdles, some he stumbles over, but thanks to his close relationship with his sister and a reconnected friendship with a woman he knew in the past he has enough support to get through the tough times.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Russell's daughter who is a sweetheart and most definitely stuck in the middle between her parents.

What about Ari Fliakos’s performance did you like?

All of it, it was a smooth performance, the female parts weren't jarring as they can be with male voices, the pacing was good too.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! It's a charming read, I kept wanting to know what happened next to Russell, especially when things got ugly with the divorce. It got a bit daunting when the separation became an official thing, and it looked like he might lose custody of his daughter, as the two were close (no matter what his wife's lawyer said) and I was heartbroken by the thought of the two being separated. What got insinuated at one point had me fuming and feeling sick for Russell, as the implications were horrendous. As for the title, well it makes sense due to music and a children's book.

    Any additional comments?

Will definitely relisten to it & recommend it to others.

    "Not so interesting"

A major part of this book is about the relationship between Russ and Vivian, it is the bottom stone of the whole story. Yet this part is a little boring and of cliche.

The chapters are not so intriguing. Story just went on and on, I nearly lost my interest towards the end. Marge's death is unpredictable and this is the only one chapter which brings me into tears or any emotions at all .
