Orrin and Tell Sackett had come to exotic New Orleans looking for answers to their father's disappearance 20 years before. To uncover the truth, the brothers enlisted the aid of a trailwise gypsy and a mysterious voodoo priest as they sought to re-create their father's last trek.
But Louisiana is a dangerous land, and with one misstep the brothers could disappear in the bayous before they even set foot on the trail that led to whatever legacy their father had left behind, and a secret worth killing for.

These are really a vice of mine. Really enjoyed these when I was younger. Nowadays I still enjoy them and these are well read. If you are expecting a modern type western forget it. These are very much when "men were men" type books and very unPC. More for people re-visiting their youth!
"Treasure of Heart"
Greatest of Storytellers. Have read everyone of his books again and again. Worth every one!
Another great book from one of the world's greatest authors! Lewis L'Amour not only writes a great western, but mysteries and poetry too!!
"this is one of my favorite books"
rilly good, reader excellent ,love the story I was rather sad when it was done
The narrator really played the characters through intonation and accents. Well done! I recommend it.
"Another enjoyable L'Amour novel"
Great listen. Strathairn is excellent. Ending was a bit obvious but enjoyable all the same.
"Too much dead air"
There is WAY to much dead air and I'm sure that during most of that dead air there is narration happening because when the sound comes back much has been missed ~ this is getting worse rapidly I'm about to the point of canceling my subscription
"Love L'Amour's Sackett series, BUT..."
They're all the same. When I read them as a kid I didn't notice. My recommendation is to read 1 or 2, read something else, and then come back for a couple more. Not a series to read back to back.
"great book series"
I am all into the Sackett series. they are all great. give it a listen to. cause its a rite far piece to the next one rite on.
