Summary

The Cambridge University witches have been meeting for as long as the university has been around. They meet mainly to discuss books, though they do so on the roofs of the colleges.

Only those invited can join; this includes Kat (a great spell caster and professor) and Cosima, Kat's sister, café owner and witch. However, when Cosima begins casting spells to attract a mate, everything starts to go wrong - she sets off a chain of events that turns each witch's world upside down....

overall enjoyable read

links the characters well. Good storytelling by the narrator. I got a bit lost and confused with N9ah's story but if I relisten I might get it better.

A gentle easy read

I liked how the characters linked together, good mix with a hint of darkness. A gentle easy listening to.

Trigger Warning

Listen, overall I really enjoyed the story. I liked the characters, the narrator, the magic system. Could have done with a little more focus on world building. But the biggest issue is the lack of consent in two of the main relationships. I'm not opposed to this as a plot point, but it is seriously glossed over, especially in the relationship where is a woman magically coercing a man. It's very disturbing, but the writer doesn't seem to understand this, or really acknowledge it in the text. So if this is something that will upset you then DO NOT LISTEN. Again, I enjoyed the book overall, I think the author has promise, but they're in desperate need of a sensitivity reader.

So many different stories lines but structure impressively so easy to follow

Narration was good and easy to listen to. A nice easy listen with some pretty atmospheric scenes. Great escapism and I loved the storyline of Elouise!

A touch of romance with a hint of magic, and some beautiful friendships ✨

Relatable characters with some real life issues that even magic couldn’t fix. A story of true friendship and finding strength within yourself to muddle through the rough patches.
Read beautifully 🌙✨
