Summary

If two brothers love the same woman, is two times the romance worth double the trouble?

When Clarinda married the Earl of Norwick, she thought she was marrying the Fitzwilliam twin who courted her. Little does she know that it was David's identical twin brother Daniel, the spare heir, who captured her heart with pink roses and delectable kisses. So when the rakish David married her and made her his countess, an embittered Daniel left London to oversee the earl's estates in Sussex.

Four years later, David's sudden death forces a reunion of the star-crossed lovers and the appearance of Clarinda's randy mother-in-law. Clarinda thinks Daniel despises her for being a fortune hunter - and because she's pregnant with a possible heir to the earldom. Daniel knows Clarinda despises him, but he can't remember what caused their last tête-à-tête to end in a nasty argument. And David's ghost is paying nocturnal visits to Clarinda while annoying Daniel with instructions to pursue his widow and pleas to discover who - or what - caused his untimely death.

Who can be in mourning when twin brothers are causing so much trouble? Or is two times the romance worth a bit of sibling rivalry? Twins double the fun in The Widowed Countess.

Dramatic reading

Twins and a ghost. What more could you want? A narrator who can make a female not sound like a twit, and this book has that!

loved the story

Loved it. I love all of Linda Rae Sande's books because they're Regency romances with a difference. Most of them have 2 stories in them, this one had 1 other short story.
They all have nice steamy sex scenes which I love. This was the 10th book I've listened to in Timeline order.
The narrator takes getting used to ,I get a bit distracted listening to his voice. He's not one of my favorites.
Now on to the next one, which in Timeline order is The story of a Baron or the Tale of 2 Barons.

The Widowed Countess

I enjoyed this book very much. It took me a couple of tries to listen to
The narrator, but once i did, I realised he was perfect to narrate it. He spoke in a posh voice and with the characters in the book being Earls and Ladies, he portrayed them exactly. The story was of a man who was a twin and his brother was identical. The Man had married and his
Wife was pregnant. It was a heart warming tale and it was told very well. Thank you Miss Sande.

Two for One!

Now this is the kind of story that makes it worthwhile reading or listening to!
I think I had a smile on my face just about the whole book through.
The three main characters are really fabulous. They each come across quite clearly with their own personalities and definitely find their ways into one's heart.
Another character who I just have to mention is the mother-in-law, Clarissa. She really is quite outspoken and rather randy in nature. One can't help having a good chuckle at some of her delightful antics.
I am definitely recommending this because it is very well written, a wonderful story, has great characters and the narration is a pleasure to listen to.
I listened to a complimentary copy of the audiobook and my voluntary review above is unbiased.
