(Originally released as The Haven 1: Wards of Night)

A dazzling new paranormal series for fans of Bella Forrest's Shade of Vampire....

When 17-year-old Eleira wakes up in a strange, unfamiliar room high above the redwoods of California, she has no idea what's waiting for her in the dark.

A trio of hauntingly beautiful vampires with a taste for her blood....

An ancient sanctuary locked away in time....

And a wicked queen determined to do anything to hold on to her rule.

Caught between three vampire brothers and coveted for her bloodline, Eleira is swept into a world of supernatural magic where nothing is as it seems and betrayal lurks behind every corner. She must fight for her survival or risk being made prey for the very creatures who keep her there. But when she discovers a dark, twisted prophecy with her at its center, she is pulled deep into the heart of The Haven...and realizes that the vampires she seeks to escape might just be the key to her salvation.

    Story
"Cute and leaves me wanting more"

I enjoyed this book very much. Wish it was a bit longer and more adult. So far I'm do like the story line. I can't wait to see how she turns out!!! And the narrator has a very nice voice to listen to! Which make the book even more enjoyable.

    Story
    "Good story"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

    I think so, althought the begining of the story is very similar to Shade of Vampire. So, when I made the recommendation, I warn about the similarity;

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The least interesting is that this book start very, very similar to Shade of Vampire. But at the same time, the most interesting is the author creates a new story, with new elements.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

This was the first time I listened Elizabeth Evans, and she didn't catch my full atention as pthers narrators. Sometimes the narrations was... I don't know how to explain... unattractive for me.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    no.

    Any additional comments?

This book has a lot of elements from "Shade of Vampire", but after some chapters, the story starts to presents its own elements, and a new plot too.

    Story
    "Not my cup of tea."

The narrator did an amazing job portraying the different voices. But that's about the only thing that kept me listening if I'm being honest. The story itself is subpar at best, riddled with YA tropes and under-developed characters. The author's writing style was far too passive and just not at all my cup of tea. The only part that evoked something other than my gag reflex was the bit with the sweet, silver-furred wolf and what later happens to him. Poor, random wolf.

I'm adding a star for James and Victoria; their side story was really interesting, and their motives struck me as realistic. Will I continue with the series, though? No.
