Red Stevens has died, and the older members of his family receive their millions with greedy anticipation. But a different fate awaits young Jason, whom Stevens, his great-uncle, believes may be the last vestige of hope in the family. "Although to date your life seems to be a sorry excuse for anything I would call promising, there does seem to be a spark of something in you that I hope we can fan into a flame. For that reason, I am not making you an instant millionaire."
What Stevens does give Jason leads to The Ultimate Gift. Young and old will take this timeless tale to heart.

I bought this book (the hard copy) many many years ago, and I have read it many times, I've lent it out many times, and I have to say it has had some profound effects.
I highly recommend you listen to it, its wonderful.
"A Delightful Story Well Told!"
The first of Jim Stovall's "Ultimate..." trilogy and a delightful introduction to his positive oriented books. As an avid self-help enthusiast, I hadn't expected much new info, and yet a number of the key topics (no spoilers, here) were presented with a fresh approach. I look forward to "reading" Jim Stovall's other books.
The narration by Tom Bosley was excellent and reminiscent of his role as a kind-hearted father on the TV-series "Happy Days."
Two thumbs up!
"Life Is What You Make It"
The story was informative, inspiring and interesting. It would be a good (in chapters) youth class presentation. The narrator was perfect.
"What a treasure!"
I can't wait to pass this book along to my son for his 10th birthday. I hope he gets as much out of it as I did. Tom Bosley did a fantastic job. His familiar voice really helped bring you into the story like you were family.
"Deep but not to deep"
The point was meaningful. I recommend this to anyone who is trying to find where they fit in. Very good!
I have seen the movie before but hearing it was wonderful, Narrator Tom Bosely is Exceptional, clear and precise, a Great lesson in Life no matter what station of life you are in.
"Gifts to cherish"
This book will certainly give you good for thought. A great reminder, step by step, of the many ways we can and should appreciate the life we live.
A good, quick read that would be good to revisit as needed to put priorities back in proper order.
Nothing ground breaking here. predictable plot. love listening to Tom though!
It would be a good read for a young person in middle school.
Heart warming inspirational message wrapped up in a compelling story. I want my whole family to listen to this tale!
Good One. Worth spending time to read. Also this Audio book is a good piece of work.
A quick classic tale of the important lessons in life that money can't buy. I was a little bored at times listening to this because I didn't learn anything new. But it would be a good one for kids to read who need to learn this valuable information.
