So funny. It kept me amused for the entire 14 hours.
Good, clean, lighthearted humour. Such a sweet story with lots of twists and turns.
I loved this.It was miles better than most chick lit,it was full of great characters, plot twists and dozens of people you felt you knew at the end
It absorbed me and cheered me up
I bought this in a sale and didn't listen to it for ages but I'm glad I made the time recently. It is a feel good story with well written characters and some quite amusing moments. I was put off initially by how upper-middle class the whole setting was but if you let that wash over you and accept that these people are somewhat blessed you are in for an easy, happy listen. Hardly ground breaking but that's not always what I want from a book that keeps me company on dog walks and commutes to work! Recommend to women 30 plus.
I usually don't stray from Agatha Christie but I bought this one because it was in the sale. I absolutely loved it. Just when you thought it was finished, there was another layer. It was just a really pleasant story with characters you couldn't help but warm to. I'm switching to Catherine Alliott.
Have read all of Catherine Alliott other books, and have to say this is one of my favourites! All the characters are so believeable and you really warm to them, a super escape from my busy life! Loved it!
I loved this book, it's a must never stopped laughing, beautifully read, highly recommended.
this isnt my usual kind of book so thats why i say its ok. for those who love light chick lit romance , they'd love this.
My first Catherine Alliott but this won't be my last. I enjoyed this book from start to finish and was quite sad when it ended. The characters are easy to like and the whole tone of the plot was fun with a few serious bits for good measure. Hilarious antics involving ponies too. Well read by Suzy Aitchison who was the reason I chose this book having just finished another she narrated.
All good stuff and I'd recommend popping this one in your library.
I'm so pleased I stumbled upon this book. It has provided me with hours of enjoyment, laugh out loud moments, a tear, a nod of recognition and thought provoking insights into how people can change. I found it perfect escapism from my demanding family and work life and actually welcomed chores like washing up or ironing as an excuse to switch on the story and switch off the world.
